The Budget Fashionista

Okay, I personally didn’t love it —and read what we wrote about it on TBF here: http://www.thebudgetfashionista.com/archive/new-york-fashion-week-spring-09-vera-wang/  Personally, I think the vast majority of the collections were really interesting and/or beautiful, and this one just stumped me . . .

But I’m curious to know—what did the rest of you budget fashionistas think about it?

I think there are a couple of interesting outfits in that gallery, but overall, as the article said, pretty dark and somber for a Spring collection.  And a of them are pretty shapeless.  I didn’t even make it through all the pictures in there and I had already run into at least 4 different totally plain black dresses with no shape at all, really.

I always take a hard look at what the clothes do for the model - if she doesn’t look stunning in it, I figure it’s going to be really less than stellar on me, since I’m not a model. And I have to say that most of those outfits didn’t do much to flatter even those models. 

Maybe Vera is having a dark period.
