Anybody else getting “fashion fatigue”?

I used to love shopping, fashion, and creating outfits.  Now I am ambivalent about it all - “ennui”?

I’m starting to let myself go, fashion-wise.  Don’t know about the new trends coming for fall or winter.  Definitely have not picked up anything new in months, and recently my outfits have been quite plain and boring.  Now, I don’t look like a fashion-disaster, but I don’t look like a fashionista any more - i.e. someone who chooses her outfits with care and pride.

What about you?

How about cultivate a sharp minimalism look?  I get the fashion blahs, too.  So long as you keep it pulled together for the duration of this phase I think you’ll feel better.  Maybe something new-to-you to get a spark!

Bugette, if you’re not all about shopping at the moment there’s nothing wrong with that—you probably have more money in your savings account at the moment than some of us :)—but if you really want to break out of the slump without going through all the hassle of clothes shopping consider picking up accessories—a colored patent belt, colored hobo purse, a big metallic cuff bracelet. Might get you out of the fashion blahs rut, in a gentle way . . .

Bugette:  I too feel like I have “fashion fatigue”.  But Angela is right…whenever I decide to break out of my ruts I buy accessories…a new necklace, new shoes (booties are hot right now) or a new scarf it always helps.  Here are a few things I’ve picked up to help myself with my “fashion fatigue”:

http://tinyurl.com/4uxc74 (love these…a little bit different than the other booties)
http://tinyurl.com/4xyvlw (love love quotes scarves!)
http://tinyurl.com/3ea9ky (forever 21 is one of my favorite spots for trendy accessories!)

Good luck!
