Once you've been around the fashion block a time or two, it seems logical you will have made a splurge here or there -- and hopefully it was a good investment. So, what was your best investment piece, and why was it a good choice?

I think it is a Jones New York sweater jacket in a Chanel jacket sort of cut.

It has some black on black ribbon embroidery down the front and fits me perfectly, and goes with everything I own, making whatever I put it on top of look classic elegant and rich.

I bought it on sight at an outlet here in Canada called Winners, which brought the price down, but it's one of the best things I own.

The other was a designer silk scarf in a weight and luster like Hermes, by Oscar dela Renta. Not like the junk his label is putting out today, but this thing is wonderful. It glows, and it moves gracefully and hangs with some weight feeling lush and almost "thick" but in a thin silk.

Again, from Winners a few years back, it is like a Hermes scarf in that it classes up anything I put it with. I've had lots of compliments on that and the jacket above.
