I’m 5’3” and desperately want to find some fab yet every day wearable in NY winter boots. I’m thinking calf or knee high, but as a Cali native, I’ve never really got the hang of boot buying. I don’t mind shelling out a pretty penny, but I don’t have time or patience to deal with uncomfortable boots, and I refuse to wear ugly ones. That said…

Where can I get COMFORTABLE leather boots?

What is the best boot style for a short girl who mostly wears knee length skirts? (super high heels are not an option as they equal death when combined with post-snow slush)

What websites do you recommend browsing when getting an idea of up to the minute styles, but not necessarily looking to buy online?

Thanks!

First of all, stay away from calf or ankle boots and go with fitted knee-high boots. You can get them in low heel styles, and they’ll look great with knee-length skirts.

Second, DSW now has a website, and you can check out the styles there. While you can order things online from them, you’ll get a good idea of what’s available if you prefer the brick-and-mortar places.

I hope this helps.
