Nobody says you have to give up luxury goods because they seem so ridiculously out of budget. As most you readers of the Budget FASHIONISTA website are already aware of; there are a myriad of ways to score brand name goods for less. Coming from a recovering over-spender, I know how it feels to give in to that unnecessary splurge.
I have one main important tip when it comes to staying in budget for those of you that literally lose all reasoning and self control once entering the store…CASH!!! A big problem many over-spenders seem to have is relying on credit cards to purchase goods that they cannot initially afford. And I know Im not alone in this, there have been many times a feeling of impending doom manifests when you realize there are outstanding bills on their way ready to taunt you. My advice when heading to the mall, bring cash. My reasoning is; if you don’t have the cash to begin with, then you can’t depend on the idea that it will magically appear later in the month. It is better to save up some cash and leave those CCs alone. You’ll surely be happier with your guilt free purchase knowing it will not become the monkey on your back later on.
