If we lived in a world where food and fashion were synonymous, one simple rule would apply to both: keep it simple. A well stocked kitchen consists of quality staples year-round, which are accented with flavors of the season. Similarly, a dandy’s wardrobe should consist of quality, classic pieces that are trenderized with the hottest wears of the season, reflecting your personal style and complimenting your frame. My personal staples are 1) a pair of dark slim jeans and gray fat-front pants, 2) an assortment of button-down oxford shirts (long and short-sleeve), 3) black/white crew and v-neck t-shirts, 4) penny loafers (for fall) and canvass shoes (spring) a la Chuck Taylor or something of the sort. To these items I trenderize, with woven belts and ties, stingy hats, driving caps, a chunky pair of eyeglasses, etc. Personally, I find my style to fall somewhere between James Dean and Andre 3000!! Most importantly, all of my garments fit my form, accentuating my shoulders, v-framed torso and gorgeously long legs (notice I did NOT say form-fitting…there IS a difference, people). And, if your money is funny and your change is strange, don’t fret; with a little footwork (and net surfing), great style can be attained year-round at an affordable price!
