I have a close friend I’ve known since grade school. She’s a big girl - no need to lie about it - she’s curvy, long-legged, and to me, absolutely beautiful.

The problem is her height and shape always have her second guessing herself and her fashion choices. The one thing I always tell her is ‘don’t be afraid to take chances!’

For example, she goes shopping for sexy stilettos and pin-up pumps, but then when we’re getting ready to go out, she’s always afraid to slip them on.

‘I’m already tall – I’ll be a frekin’ giant in these things!’
I tell her, ‘Honey, men LOVE tall women in a sexy heel – put those things on – NOW!’

Of course, this topic of taking chances goes far beyond a pair of heels, but it’s the principle. Ladies, and even guys out there, do NOT believe the hype. People seem to think if they are uniquely shaped – from supermodel heights to bootylicious curves – they have to ‘play it safe’ when it comes to fashion. WRONG!

Why tone down or try to hide your differences, when those differences are what make you uniquely beautiful in the first place?
