Hi Everyone.
My name is Max and I am a new TBF member (applause).
I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to NYC and loving it. I live in the East Village and work in the Meatpacking District. You will most likely find me below 14th Street or in Williamsburg.

To inagurate myself into the TBF family, I wanted to impart some shopping advice. At the turn of each season, I usually make a personal look book for the season ahead. I take pictures from runway shows, store websites, blogs, etc and compile a small group of photos of the look I am trying to achieve with the upcoming season. Most of the things I find are on high-end websites or from high-end designers shows, but ultimately it helps me figure out what direction I want to move in when shopping. From here, I can usually find similar items at outlet stores or department stores for a fraction of the cost. Ultimately, it just helps me develop a sense of personal style that can be translated into a budget shopping experience. Try it out for fall or winter and tell me how it goes!

Best,
Max B

Hi Max and welcome to the TBF forum! I totally agree about using runway fashion, retail collections, etc. to inspire your own personal style, and then creating it in a way that makes sense for your lifestyle and bank account—matter of fact, that’s what we’re all about here. We look forward to getting your input . . .

The personal look book is a great idea. It’d be a nice way to spend a weekend at home, and gratify the longings of my heart.
