While the temps are still hot, hot, hot, fall is definitely in the air—in the world of fashion, that is. Fall fashion trend reports are popping up everywhere, and while we’re still reasonably happy in our bermudas and flip flops, we can’t help but start daydreaming about those cute Mary Jane pumps and tweed wide-leg trousers we keep seeing.

So which fall fashion trend are you looking forward to trying this year? Or are you uninspired by what you’ve seen thus far? OR, are you too budget-conscious at the moment to even THINK about picking up some trendy new pieces? Do tell!

I want a purple top, preferably a knit, turtleneck in a thin weight, and I’m searching for a good jacket/blazer but haven’t figured out the lines yet or colours. I plan to window shop a bit and try to score a good sale on the new stuff coming in for fall. I’ve been out looking but not much is inspiring me yet.

Both will go with my black, cream and grey/navy/olive green base wardrobe.

And if I were to find a good handbag in a colour I can only describe as a cross between a bricky red and a warm berry tone I’d buy it.

I have been seeing alot of tweed jackets, either long or short sleeves. They would look amazing with a nice pair of dress pants to wear to work (this woman on my train wears one in the morning and I think im going to ask her where she got it!) Places like Old Navy have been showing alot of silk tops and dresses for the fall as well.

Pleated skirts have also been big for the upcoming season. Paired with a nice plain button down shirt, your work wardrobe is all set!!

I am so looking forward to wearing my peacock coat (preferably a new one ;) along with some nice pumps or pair of boots!

Although here in LA it doesnt get as cold… I can hardly wait to wear those items.. and of course, can’t forget the scarves and big purses ;)

I always look forward to the rich, warm fall colors, because those are the ones that make me look my best.

I am actually excited about wearing colors I have never worn before.  Warm orange, yellow, olive green, etc….  Maybe this year I will get some nice slacks and definatly a nice trench!  Other then those ideas, I have not figured out much else…LOL

Lucky magazine had a spread about some of the new trends, and they all have something that I like:

American Classic- my style is classic casual, so I’ll just be trying my own take here.
Military- I’m not into the details, but olive green is one of my best colors, and I always try to stock up.
Bohemian- I’m not exactly into all of this either, but I love feminine things, and the photos show a lot of warm colors, which I love.
Tech- If it’s simple and can be dressed up or down, it works for me.
Goth- I’m not crazy about this one. Even if I go for black, I try for an Audrey Hepburn sort of thing.

The fall fashion trends are definitely interesting this year.  As someone who doesn’t wear a lot of dresses or florals, I look forward to the continued trend of florals into the fall.  I looked for cute flowered dresses all summer but couldn’t bring myself to branch out.  I think the more muted colored flowers on the fall dresses will make it easy for me to take that leap.

I’m also interested in try to jump into the whole purple thing.  I keep reading that purple is the new black so I’m going to play around with that color this fall and winter too.

If purple is big for this fall, then bring it on! Purple is one of my best colors. I already have several purple tops, so I’ll be wearing them and enjoying being in style. But even when it goes out, I’ll still be wearing it and looking good :)

The fall is coming soon - but the heat still lingers on—not helped by the current election season. Anyway, it is really good to see some displays already looking forward to the fall season. However, inspiration is not enough as the budget must always be balanced. But still we can find a way to get into the fall fashion.
