Im a native New Yorker...which means, I wear Black all year round. Im never without it. You name it, I have it. Black Mascara? yep. Black skirt? Of course. Black Pants? You Betcha. LBD? (Little Black Dress that is for all you non acryromners) Oh you better believe it. There are some things you just cant go without, and black is one of them. Every woman must have black in their closet, whether youre here in the fashion capital of the world (In My Opinion it is  ) or anywhere else. Black goes with everything (just about) so keep that in mind.

Not just women, either. If it’s good enough for Johnny Cash, it’s good enough for me.

Black is my favorite base color… except in the summer when it’s hot out. That’s when I prefer lighter colors. However, I still go with black for special occasions, even in the summer.

I completely agree—I love black. However, I think it’s also important to remember how much better your wardrobe is if you mix things up as well. A lot of people (and there are phases where I’m definitely guilty of this) just default to black all the time—and that can get a little dull. I looove black, but try hard to remember that there are other neutrals AND that black looks even better with a little added personality in the form of color/accessories/texture, etc.

Black is my favorite base color, but it actually isn’t the most flattering neutral on me. If I don’t add some color to it, it washes me out. However, one of the best things about black is that it’s such a great backdrop for other colors and accessories. You can add anything to it and it will look good.
