Help! I need to know what to do for wedding because I feel so awkward at our heigth difference. I am 6 foot 4 and very slender and my husband to be is 5 foot 5. I know the usual common sense sugeestions of wearing flats and all, but does anyone here have any other ideas? I have been feeling awkward all of my 18 years and for this day I don't want to feel that way.

Couple of ideas

1. keep your hair flat, with no bun or anything to add additional height

2. have your groom wear shoes or boots with a bit of heel (kenneth cole reaction has nice shoes with about a 2 inch heel) and he can also put lifts (insoles that you put inside the shoes to make you taller). The heel and the lifts (which no one can see) would add about 4 inches to his height.

3. Also have your groom grow his hair out and have him style it with a bit of a puff (but not elvis puffy unless that is his thing)

4. For you a fuller skirt/bottom to your dress will make you look a little bigger as well as relatively shorter.

5. definitely wear flats or go barefoot

6. if possible, have your groom choose a pinned striped tuxedo.. the vertical stripes will make him look taller and choose a bolder tie (in a bright color like red, pink, etc), while you keep your dress relatively simple.

If you do these things- you should be able to reduce the appearance of a height difference to about 4-6 inches.

Regarding me going barefoot, I have already cleared it with my pastor that I can, indeed, go down the aisle barefoot. My mom joked with me that I go barefoot almost al of the tme anyways that I would probably get married barefoot. LOL She also suggetsed that it would also be cute if I showed off my barefeet as I show of submission by wearing something besides a tradtional gown that showed my feet. What do you think about that? And what about me sitting in a chair with my groom standing over me in the pictures, or even me kneeling toward him during our vows?
