The Budget Fashionista

Okay, I seem to have my shower stocked at any given time with waaaay more products (all budget, of course) than any one person needs (though I do share stuff with my 12 year old daughter, but still). I’m wondering where others fall on the shower product continuum, so I thought I’d throw this out there—what’s your shower/bath product inventory right now?

Here’s what’s in my shower:

Olay Definity Face Wash (yeah, two face washes, not sure why)

soap—no idea what kind at the moment

Wow, I think that’s it. For the record I bought all of these things at either Big Lots, Target, or WalMart . . .

I use Herbal Essences Body Envy shampoo and since my other conditioner ran out, I use one whose name I don’t remember. On deck I have Salon Selectives shampoo and conditioner and Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner. I recently purchased Dove body wash from Target—the plain white creamy kind. I, too, use Skintastic shave gel, and my Schick Quattro that I fell in love with.

Does anyone get as irritated as I do when a shampoo runs out but there’s conditioner left and vice versa? They always end up staggered.

I have naturally curly hair, so I follow the Curly Girl routine, which involves only conditioner and gel/spray gel. Here’s what I have:

Queen Helene Cholesterol and Ginseng deep conditioner
Garnier Fructis Conditioner for color-treated hair
Garnier Fructis Spray gel for curls
Homemade lavender mist (distilled water with a few drops of lavender essential oil)
Garnier Nutrisse hair color
Natural Instincts hair color
Unscented Dove soap

I have a bunch of facial care items in my bedroom:
Mary Kay Timewise 3-1 cleanser for combination/oily skin
MK acne treatment gel
MK Timewise moisturizer with SPF 15
MK lipbalm with SPF 15
MK Satin Lips set (lip mask and lip balm)

Pantene Ice Shampoo and Conditioner (the conditioner doubles as a great shave cream)
Head and Shoulders for my husband

Olay anti age body wash

Olive oil soap

Aveeno anti redness facial cleanser

pumice sponge for the feet which I use with Neutrogena’s microbeads facial exfoliater (works a treat on dry skin, leaves a moisturizing film)

After showering I use Freida’s frizzease serum for extra shine without greasiness and to calm frizzy hairs

and I use that new Olay anti age body serum in the purple bottle. It exfoliates and moisturizes really well.

I put Avon’s planet spa shea butter cream with glycolic acid on my feet to keep them smooth and soft.

OH man!  Here I go:

Suave hairsprays in spritz for extra hold and spray for light hold

Makeup bag containing products from Maybelline, Mary Kay, Loriel, WetNWild, NYC, Dollar Store, H.I.P. Almay, Covergirl and Paula Begoun.

I’m in love with Aveeno products.  I use the daily brightening facial scrub, the lavendar calming body wash and am thrilled to find out they have started a shampoo line!  I’m very much a minimalist in the shower.  I do have a grapefruit body sugar that I love (not sure who makes it) and right now I have Pureology shampoo, which was a splurge, but I do love it.
