Okay, this is a weird question—but here goes:

Last summer I bought a pair of silver metallic gladiator sandals (flat) that are really on-trend right now, but I can’t help but think the silver is just too, well, silver. I’m liking the more muted metallics out there (I have a bronze pair, too, that are much more understated that I loooove). So, my question is, is there any way I can treat these sandals to tone down the bright “silverness” of them? I know, weird question, but I’m not wearing them and it seems like such a waste—maybe I’ll just take them to Goodwill . . .

hmmm, silvery silver. Are they super shiny? Even if they are, I would try to pair them with white pants/skirts or with lighter colors. Sounds like too much contrast for black or stronger colors. Beyond that, if you really aren’t feeling the vibe, I would say give ‘em to Goodwill and let another gal enjoy them. I bought a pair of gladiator sandals from Target earlier this summer. Same deal, I really wanted the bronze but took the silver (the backward shoes olympics--I took what I saw as the lower prize! ;-D ) cuz that is what was in my size. But I never really liked the silver so I did give to Goodwill. Good luck!

I got mine at Target, too, so they may well be the same sandals (mine are from last year but they were on the shelves at the beginning of the summer too)—and I’m thinking you’re right, Goodwill it is. Seems no matter what I put them with, I always change into another pair before I leave the house. Hopefully someone else will love ‘em . . .
