Hi everyone!

If you’re going to a party or barbecue for the Fourth of July, do you like to dress festively? Red, white and blue from head to toe? Or do you go for the more subtle look and integrate only one patriotic color?

I’m probably going to go for something red, but maybe that’s because it’s my favorite color.

I’m with you Chistiana— I used to have a couple of old navy tanks (one in red, one in blue) with a small and reasonably subtle American flag on the front that became my regular 4th of July wear, but they’ve finally worn out (probably for the best, actually), and I’m not likely to replace them with anything that actually has a flag on it. I, too, will go with something more subtle with one patriotic color, and red’s my favorite as well, so that’s as far as I’ll go . . .

It has, however, been a season of stars and stripes, so I expect to see other fashionistas doing those patterns without looking like they’ve gone too far overboard (but one or the other—not both at the same time!!) :)

This is just a suggestion: Wear a red top with blue jeans. Fabulous for a barbeque without looking costumey.

I think it’s corny to dress up in a fireworks hat and TNT earrings and tri-colored t shirts… everyone already knows it’s the 4th of July it’s a very well known holiday you don’t have to look like a walking independence day awareness commercial.
My advice is:
• you can be festive in a classy sophisticated way, Pick a color ( just one really bright color) and pair it up with dark wash jeans and don’t hunt for the matching shoes… wear shoes in a neutral color and wear simple shaped earrings (like studs) to match your bright color.
• Make up is another way to coordinate with your out fit with out having it scream FESTIVE!!! if you are wearing blue, try a little blue eye shadow or a thin line of blue eyeliner on your lid. if you are wearing red, some creamy red lipstick can do the trick. If you are wearing white some shimmery white eye shadow can make you look angelic!

I like red the best too. But today is a bit chilly so I’m wearing a navy cotton sweater with a navy/white inset, and a red/white neclace (small beads, not crazy big beads). Am also wearing my cheapo 18K gold plate ruby/diamond hoops plus cheapo sapphire/diamond studs. So there’s my red/white/blue. with Red flip flops, pasty white skin, and khaki walking shorts.
STylin!
