In light of the Louis Vuitton/eBay lawsuit, I’d like to broach this topic. Are you for or against knockoff designer merchandise? Have your purchased any before, or are you waiting to get the real thing? Can you spot a fake Louis Vuitton from a mile away or does it require close inspection?

I absolutely protest fakes! I would never buy one and think they are very tacky! If you can’t afford the real thing then I say don’t try to pretend. When you purchase fake bags you are promoting the black market and I think that is morally wrong.

Designer-inspired pieces are fantastic for budget fashionistas. They look really good without making you look like you’re trying too hard. The difference is that designer-inspired pieces don’t try to pass themselves off as designer. Fakes are just not a good idea simply because fakes are often too easy to spot.

One suggestion: stay away from logos. I’ve never seen anything with a logo on it that didn’t look fake, even if it was real.
