would it be the biggest fashion disaster if I tried to wear a pair this fall? I’ve always had an interest in this trend [regardless of the fact it may be dead and gone by now]. but i’d like another opinion :)

Cowboy boots are one of those iconic items which, while not always “in style”, you can pull off if you have the attitude/style chops to wear them. The trick for me would be to wear them in a way that’s not costumy (say, a la Jessica Simpson with cutoffs and a straw cowboy hat) but instead keeping it simple.

Do you actually have a pair that you want to wear? If so, what do they look like? How were you thinking of wearing them?

i actually don’t own a pair yet >.< but i definitely want to buy a pair soon. I was thinking of a pair with a long sleeve swoop turtleneck dress and tights. they have a really great one at delia’s on sale.

I agree with Angela--you can pull it off as long as it’s not costume/Western. I can picture cowboy boots going nicely with a dress like that and tights.

I love the idea of cowboy boots with a turtleneck dress and tights. Cowboy boots are what I would call “trendy classic,” meaning that they go in and out of style, but they always come back. And I agree with everyone else: they’ll look terrific as long as you don’t wear them in a costumey way. That is, don’t wear them with a western-style outfit.’’

My only problem with a turtleneck dress is that I don’t like turtlenecks, but that’s another story.
