I am curious as to how long it takes you ladies to get ready for the day.  And I am just talking about after the shower.  How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up?  I think it takes me anywhere between 30 min to 1 hour depending on the situation.

I can be ready in about 1 hour including shower however I need to know what I am going to be wearing or it may take longer.

So on a good day 1 hour but I get up about 2 hours before I need to leave the house b/c I enjoy watching the news, eating breakfast/coffee and either reading or getting on-line. Plus, I have a high maintenance Lab to take care of!

I’m with you, shoelover - I can be ready much faster if I already know what I’m wearing for the day! It usually takes me between a half hour and an hour to get ready, depending on how much of a perfectionist I feel like that day! :)

It takes me about 45 minutes to do hair, makeup, etc.—including the blow-drying, moisturizing, etc. And yep, I always try to mentally prepare what I’m going to wear the night before—usually I stick to it so that definitely saves a little time. But I’m with you shoelover—I give myself lots of extra time because I need some coffee and news to get me going!

I shower in the afternoon or evening so that my hair can dry overnight. With naturally curly hair, this is easy. In the mornings, I put on a hair covering that works with my outfit.

All I do in the morning is brush my teeth, wash my face with cleanser, add lip balm and moisturizer with SPF 15, and I’m done on most days. If I have to be someplace that calls for makeup, it adds another 5 minutes.

Total with makeup and hair cover: 15 minutes.

I’m a beauty consultant, and one thing I teach my clients is that if your daily skin care routine takes longer than five minutes, or if your daily makeup routine takes longer than 5 minutes, then something is wrong.

On days when I have nothing to do, I love to linger in the shower but in most days i usually finish fast. After picking out my clothes, all i do is to brush my teeth, put on powder and vaseline on my lips and i’m good to go!

Thank you ladies for your input.  I have just told my DH and maybe now he understands that I am not the only felmale that can take 45-1 hour to get ready.  And that is when we are going out.  I typically only brush my teelth wash my face and put a comb through my hair on weekdays because I work in Surgery. ( I wear a mask and hat all day) But on weeknights or weekends when I am getting ready for the day I take about 45 min to get ready.  Hair and face only.  Now, finding something to wear is a different subject all together.  LOL

lol. yeah! it really takes a longer time to find something to wear. you don’t want to be underdressed and at the same time overdressed too and you also have to pick out the right accessories and shoes.

Post-shower, 30 minutes IF I know what I’m going to wear. Otherwise, that can stretch into an hour. I go into a brain freeze. So like Angela I at least try to mentally pick out the clothes, or actually lay them out. Makeup takes me about 5 minutes, hair can be a trial. I try to keep the ‘do simple, because that seems to be my bottleneck, in terms of grooming.

Depends…

I organize my closet by looks, so everything is together and ready to go.. If I don’t have to do my hair, I can go from shower to door in 30 minutes flat. If I have to do my hair, we’re talking an additional 30 minutes to an hour…

Lately it has taken me MUCH longer to get ready because I feel like I’ve worn my winter items so much that I no longer want to put them on my body. I can’t wait until the weather warms up a bit more so I can change my closet over.

Wow! I’m a high school grad (not in college yet) now, so all that I do in the morning is eat, wash my face, brush my teeth, DEO, dress (jeans, t-shirt, and hoodie). All of that takes a whooping 15 minutes. The only time I have to worry about how I look is when I go to church and when I have any money to go shopping. On those occasions, it takes me about 30 minutes. But, I’ll have to do more once I return to the States. I must say that I agree with Machazit!!! One’s face and makeup shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes (unless you are dressing up).

However long I can stand hearing “moma, moma, MOMA” yelled from the other side of the bathroom door.  5 minutes tops.

If I have somewhere to go the next day, I always choose an outfit the night before and lay it out. If I’m straightening my hair, it could take me an hour from the shower to the approving or disapproving glance in the mirror. If I’m leaving my hair curly, then it only takes me half an hour for everything. I put on blush, eyeliner, and eyeshadow.

Getting ready for the day takes about 10-15 minutes tops. 2 minutes for teeth and a minute to wash my face and moisturize. I put on clothes I laid out the night before, and go. I generally comb my hair and put on a moisturizing lipstick at stoplights - if I do it at home, that takes 30seconds. (I have a *very* simple cut.)

Now getting ready to go out is a different matter, and may take 1/2 hour to an hour including hair, clothes and makeup, but just getting ready for the day is quick.
