This article in Women’s Wear Daily confirms what we already suspected: that print dresses and colored outerwear are hot trends this season: http://womensweardaily.com/fashion/article/123558.

We love both—but we’re wondering how you feel about adding these particular items into your wardrobe—are you picking up a bold floral dress and bright pink trench—or is there some other spring fashion trend that you’ve fallen in love with? What’s your favorite, and how will you wear it?

I’m off to the theatre today (we have a subscription, so my husband and I remember to actually go out sometimes).  I’m wearing a bright floral skirt and short-sleeve bright floral top. THey’re somewhat different patterns, but matching colors (pinks and corals and greens) and go together surprisingly well. I got the skirt last year at Coldwater Creek (on sale) and the top last week at Cache (buy two, get $30 off).

I was going to wear some higher-heeled sandals but changed my mind. I’ll go with a low heel sandle (so I can walk) so it’s more “casual” since it’s an afternoon show. Now I’ve gotta go upstairs and figure out what to wear as a wrap (I’m afraid they may aircondition us to death).

Large floral prints absolutely scare me...on me, that is!  But I love bright and bold colors as accents on my 30 something figure!

Bright colors in outerwear...no...I’m looking for a trenchcoat (one that actually repels water) and won’t buy anything “trendy,” since I’m willing to spend a bit more money on this piece and want it to last a long time.  (Since it is still COLD here in the midwest, I do love a bright glove with my winter coat, though!) It might be fun to find a bright belt to wear with that elusive trenchcoat when I find it!  Florals...the only florals I’ve had in my closet for ages are a couple of Hawaiian shirts that I wore to a neighbor’s yearly Margaritaville party.  It seems as though once you are over a “certain age”, you feel like you are dressing like your mom or grandma if you wear florals.  (Well, at least I feel that way.) However, I do have a really fun and bright floral handbag that I’ll bring out, and pair that with some bright tanks or Ts with my jeans.

I have to confess, Classique, that I’m a little shy on the really colorful florals myself—however, I find that I like them in a skirt (more so than a dress or top), and also that, being addicted to black (I’m working on it!), there are some really great black and white floral prints out there as well that are on trend but don’t make you think of a luau!

I picked up this skirt from Target this weekend: http://www.target.com/Merona-Seamed-Skirt-Ebony-Floral/dp/B000XMC2E2/qid=1206364318/ref=br_1_46/601-2369532-5706559?ie=UTF8&node=13161001&frombrowse=1&pricerange;=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field;-browse=13161001&rank;=-product_site_launch_date&rh;=&page=1

It looks waaaay better on than it does in this picture, and it actually has a waistband that can roll over (and still lies nice and flat) so I can adjust the hemlength depending on how I want to wear it. Love it!!

I am definatly going to try the bold and bright colors.  I am not sure about florals yet.  We shall see.

yellow, I bought a yellow and white print chiffon scarf. It will go with my white cotton outfits and the navy and white or black and white or grey and white stuff quite nicely.

alligator or lizard is a trend I like, I picked up some shoes with those details in them when I refreshed my shoes this spring.

I pulled out a great older scarf in a floral that looks really current right now to use. I bought it on clearance the last time florals were in, it is a real Oscar de la Renta silk print, I paid 40$ for it, and it’s been a workhorse ever since, but right now it looks particularly new and fresh.

navy and whie are nice right now, I bought some navy pants, they go nicely with some crisp white sleeveless shell blouses that I have, and I’m wearing that with black accessories.

grey is very good too, I bought a couple of grey pants, that look nice with my cream tneck shell sweaters under several of my jackets (I like the Chanel style jackets- the line goes well with skirts or pants and doesn’t look too fussy)--the jackets are black boiled wool, and a quilted grey green (khaki green) jacket with fold back sleeves that reflect the current 3/4 sleeve length. I’ve had the jackets 3 years now.

I have to second that vote for yellow even with shoes. They
can bring out any hint of yellow in your outfit.  I think
patent leather is in this spring as well. Let’s not forget wedges!

I also went for the yellow. Got a cute dress at Marshall’s with a small checker print (yellow/white) and I can’t wait till it is warm enough to wear it. I also have a great Anne Klein pink trench I bought a few years back. It looks right this year.

I just bought a gigantic floral print dress. It was on the clearance rack at Target and is by Isaac Mizrahi. I took it home, put it on and it looks FABULOUS.
I feel like I should be drinking mint juleps, and playing bridge! However, I quickly put on an apron, made nachos, fed a bunch of hungry kids, then put on my matching pink converse tennis shoes and took the dog for a walk!

Full skirts are my favorite trend of the moment. They can be so flattering, so I’m excited to see more of them in stores.

Colored trenches are really darling, too, but I’d go for a tomato red or saturated green over pink.

I agree with a ton of y’all! I love the large floral prints. But, what I really am loving are ombre pieces!

I already bought so many dresses last summer that I feel guilty buying more, when I technically don’t need them. But if I can find a painterly, floral, watercolored-looking dress for a good price, I’m giving in. I love colors, and I think I would end up wearing this theoretical dress with my gold sandals or brown wedges. I also want platform sandals, but I’m in the same predicament with shoes as I am with dresses, hehe.
