Watches are an accessory that many of us use every day, but don’t always put a lot of thought into—at least I don’t, and probably should. I’ve struggled, however, to find a watch that’s both functional (meaning I can read it easily) and fashionable. I have had my best luck at—where else?—Target.

Personallly, I like a chunkier style watch, with a leather or silver/gold band and bold face.

What do you consider fashionable in a watch, and where do you find great watches on a budget?

I found my watch at Target, and I love it.

I see watches as timepieces and not much more, so I prefer subtle ones. Mine is a mixed-metal stretch band. It’s nice and narrow, which is proportional to my small wrists, and it doesn’t compete with anything.

That’s my take.

As long as it has numbers, I go for it! Once my grandma gave me a watch with no numbers, just a dot for the “12” and I couldn’t tell what time it was. Haha!

But on to the topic, there are two kinds of watches for me: one that’s for everyday, which means it has to withstand the elements (a waterproof watch is great for me), and another that’s like a bracelet for dressy occasions. Silver is my preferred metal. To be honest, I don’t really buy—my aunts give me a watch almost every year. Dunno why. :)

I’m not a watch hound, but I do have to wear one. I tend to wear the same one(s) over and over again. Usually it’s a small one with a leather band --I know, boring. My favorite brand is Timex Indiglo, because they light up in the dark. Not like I’m in dark places with strange men (okay, let’s not go there), but it does come in handy if I"m camping or in a movie theatre.
