Fashion tip:

Ladies, want to look thinner, but afraid of losing your natural curves by going under the knife?  Try a skirt instead!  Just in time for spring, full skirts that fall right above the knee give the illusion of longer, slimmer legs.  Not only are full, flowing skirts appropriate in the office, but they’re also a feminine, dramatic addition for a night out salsa dancing with the girls.  Best of all, a full skirt, whether midnight black or fire engine red, can flatten a tummy in seconds if resting right below the navel.  Be fem, flirty, but most importantly, be proud of your curves!

I totally agree—full skirts—or A-line, depending on your figure—are super flattering. Just be sure to wear them with a top that lies close to the body (though not too tight!) to keep the look sleek. And we’re all about dressing what you’ve got to it’s very best advantage rather than dieting like crazy to fit some notion of what you SHOULD look like . . .

Of course we should dress and groom our best and not try to fit into society’s warped standards of “beautiful.”

Be warned though that any skirt with volume in it has to be long enough to accommodate that width. If the skirt is longer than it is wide, it will make your legs look longer and you look taller and slimmer. Wider skirts, whether full or A-line, that fall above the knee can truncate the legs and look juvenile if you’re not careful.

Having said that, I’ve never seen a figure that didn’t look great in an A-line skirt.
