A serious bummer. His clothes were great and a good price. Same with shoes. He really started the trend of high-end designers creating great stuff for the masses.
Me too! I use his peices to put with my classic foundation pieces. You know a little pop here and there. Sad! *tear* His stuff was better quality than the H&M;stuff. H&M;, rarely lasts a season and quality is icky. However, I do draw the line at shoes. Nothing but the best for these beauties.
That is a bummer! I love his designs. But to be honest, the clothes at Target don’t hang on me well. They’re cut kinda weird for my body.
But…
His vintage vibe is yummy. Sure looked good on the models.
Oh, and I agree with Goddess up there ^^^ Good shoes are an investment!
A lot of his clothes were simplistic. I didn’t necessarily like his designs, but I didn’t hate them either. It was a good thing to do for the rest of the normal population who don’t make over a million dollars a year, buying high-end dresses and shoes every day.
He did more for Target than can ever be imagined. Brought a sensible chic to the masses, got women to start thinking about clothes, and provided it for those of us on a budget.
I think he gave the Women’s dept. some grounding. I always looked forward to what he had to offer. I bought a lot of his clothes, though regrettably, I’ve given many away!
I don’t know who they’ll get to replace him. But I’d love Diane Von Furstenburg.
I was in Target today. There’s a dwindling number of things in there from Isaac’s line. It’s sad.
I saw a blue shirt dress, but all I could think of how much it looked like a uniform. Though it was in my size, I just couldn’t buy it. I did, however, purchase a handbag, which seems to have just come out. I love it. I already miss him, though have to admit --Merona has some really great things. They have Wrap dresses for under $30.
His Target line was what brought me to that store to begin with. I own several pieces from that line and I"ll probably wear them forever, since they’re classic designs.
Isaac Mizrahi gave lower price stores some respectability. It used to be that discount stores were nothing but discount. Then he made them something bigger. It’s hard to describe. I can’t believe he’s not going to be doing it anymore.
