First of all, I don’t like those “long-wearing” things. They’re too dry, and they don’t blend well.
Second, as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, I teach clients how to apply makeup, and I have taught some tricks that help makeup stay on longer:
1) Don’t touch your face after applying makeup. Just blend it and that’s it.
2) Stay out of high heat and humidity as much as possible.
3) To make lipstick last, start with a lip mask or exfoliator, and then apply lip balm and give it several minutes to set. If your lips are too wet, blot with a tissue. Next, color your lips in with a neutral lipliner. Apply a light coat of lipstick, then blot with a tissue. Apply a second coat of lipstick, and blot again. Apply a third coat of lipstick and blot again. Finally, apply a fourth coat. Applying several thin coats allows the lipstick to last, while blotting pushes the pigment in, and the lipliner anchors the whole thing.
4) Once you’ve applied your lipstick, eat and drink minimally and be very careful. Use a straw to drink.
These are tricks that work for me and many clients.
