The line of Isaac Mizrahi for Target wedding dresses is a great option for brides on a budget—but where else can you pick up a great wedding dress for less?

I got my wedding dress at David’s Bridal, they have the $99 dollar sales quite often and the dresses are very nice. Also when the $99 sale is on most of the dresses in the store will be on sale also. I remember that my dress was originally $1500 but since I bought it during the sale I paid $750 for it.

In order to find a gown for less, you have to be a little flexible. I rented my wedding gown, and I got a great deal (gown, detachable train, veil, headpiece, petticoat, alterations, and cleaning all for $850). Plus, I didn’t have to worry about storage afterwards.

You could try renting, or if possible, borrowing a gown from a friend (one of my friends gave her wedding gown to another friend, and with slight alterations, it looked perfect).

David’s Bridal is a great place to start if you choose to buy.

Can also check out thrift stores like Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc

I agree about buying them used. If you’re handy with a thread and needle, you can find them at the Goodwill and Salvation Army. Actually, if you really like playing around, you can literally deconstruct and re make.

Also, re-think the issue of bridal gown. Does it have to be frilly? Maybe you’re just looking for a nice dress, or like in the 1940’s --a classic suit? (Many women got married in grey flannel wearing a white corsage).

I was going to mention David’s Bridal also.  My gown was $199 on clearance and exactly what I wanted.  However, the accessories do add up.

I bought mine custom - made at an ebay auction......I got a gorgeous full train gown for $115 including shipping all made to my measurements. ( and I happen to be a very slim 0 so it is so hard to get anything in my size....!
