TJ Maxx has really outdone itself as of late. Since January, I’ve been picking up dresses, shirts, sweaters and jackets for less than $20.00
Today, I bought a shirt for $5, a skirt for $5, a camisole for $2 and a short jacket for $20. I’ve found dresses for $10 and $15, and scores of tunics for $15 as well.
They were the odd things no one else wanted. I guess to others might have seemed dull or eccentric. But I love them. They’re great!

Nice find, girl!

I can’t ever seem to find anything I like in there, but I’ll definitely have to give it another chance.

Shopping at TJ Maxx and other outlets like it is much like shopping at thrift stores—hit or miss. Sometimes I find a great great deal, and other times I leave disappointed. I’m of the opinion, however, that it’s worth the regular searching to get a bargain on something I love . . .

A couple of years ago I happened to have some Christmas spending money so I went in there to find a purse.  They were selling a Coach satchel for $100...except
it was bright orange and white!  Completely not my style, and even though it was Coach and I could afford it I just couldn’t do it.  Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any more Coach in there.  Guess I should have grabbed it!

I love TJ Maxx and Marshalls, and I check them out at least twice a month.  My favorite finds are the designer swimwear:  that’s where I always get my Tommy Bahama and DKNY black bikinis.  They also frequently carry DKNY jersey pieces, marked down from the hundreds of dollars to about $39.  Every season there’s a few tops or pants I like, and I buy multiples and wear them all the time.  DKNY makes the best matte jersey, it’s beautifully cut and perfect for travel.

Yeah, I have to be in one of those frames of minds --my son calls it “freeform shopping.”
I swear, he and I (yes, my son is a fashionisto!) can spend 2 hours in there!  We both love the clearance racks. I found a Ralph Lauren ruffled shirt for $5 the other day. And there are loads of yellow hand bags.
But it’s all fun. I’ve bought things and have made things shorter, brightened things up with a scarf. Loads of fun.
And my son finds all his “skater” attire there at much lower prices!
