What is one of the best deals you have gotten or seen on apparel?
One of the best deals I have gotten was on a pair of knee high leather boots from Aldo. Orginally 200, they were marked down to 150 and had an additional 50% off at the time and came out to 75 bucks. Which I think isn't bad, because our winter is quite long (Mid November- Mid April) and while I had bought them in January… The winter gets as cold as -30 centigrade and it kept my legs nice and warm. Thick padding and finished interiors. They were not a basic black, but they are a cognac (reddish chocolate brown) that matches the leather messenger bag I use for school which is a hand me down messenger bag that my mom used for work and bought ten years ago for 50 dollars that was made in italy.
I saw a fabulous pebbled leather blazer in a creamy sage green for 30 bucks in my size at winners, but sadly I had already spent all my money. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif It was supple, smooth and had a lining. There were no fit issues and it had no defects.
So what are the best deals you have found on apparel.
For me it was a pair of Emmanuel Ungaro pants that were worth well over $200. I got them at MARSHALL'S of all places for $20!! I was stocked with that purchase. They were a nice tan color that went with everything. They draped beautifully & fit like a glove. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
Probably my Kate Spade cream colored leather sandals for $13.98 at the DSW shoewarehouse in the Mall of America or my Kenneth Cole wedding shoes for $9.98.
I also found a great kelly green coach bag for like $5 and pair of $500 Marc Jacob black pants at the Salvation Army for $2.99 at the salvation army.
I know I am missing somethings.. there's just a lot…
Winners.. I love Canada!!! Toronto has some of the BEST shopping in the world

Ok, I HAVE to know - WHERE did you get a KELLY GREEN coach bag? Especially for $5! Kelly Green is one of my FAVORITE colors!

I live in a town that isn't a metropolis like Toronto, or small like thoseunder 20,000 ppl towns. We have Winners, and you probably went to the good ones. Where I live, you are very unlikely to get anything better than Jones New York, and if you are lucky Tahari. And the JNY is usually just 20 bucks cheaper. Which isn't all that great…
I bought a pair of cute old navy jeans from the old navy store for 1.99. It was only like 30.00 originally but I couldnt believe it! I asked the sales clerk if it was irregular or was there something else wrong with it but she was like, "nope the're just last season, and they've been marked down acouple of times."
I also bought a cute wool gap sweater from the gap store for 3.00

The green bag came fromt he jersey city, nj salvation army. Lots of hipster and jersey princesses live in the area and they rarely keep things longer than 3 months..
I went to the winners in toronto… but i LOVE shopping in toronto.. seriously some of the best shopping around> I am going there in two weeks and I can't wait!
Let me see, I shop at thrift stores quite a bit, and the best deal I have found is a Levi's leather jacket for $5. It was quite a deal. It was practically brand new (of course it wasn't brand new considering it was from a thrift shop, but it was still a great deal).
It was a genuine leather jacket worth at least $300. It had perfect detail, such as slit pockets in the front, a collar of perfect fashion, and a criss cross tie in the back to adjust perfectly to your personal shape.
It has been the BEST deal I have come accross in a long while .
A relatively stylish dress from Banana Republic for $20, original price $190.
UNFORTUNATELY, I couldn't wait to wear it so I wore it to a semi-formal event where TWO other ladies were wearing the exact same dress. My only consolation is that I probably paid way less for the dress.
Moral of the story? If you are going to buy a dress from a chain store like Banana Republic or a popular local store selling semi-formal dresses, buy it on sale AND WAIT AT LEAST A YEAR BEFORE WEARING IT TO A LARGE SEMI-FORMAL EVENT!!!
I was so mad when I showed up at the event, and immediately I saw another girl wearing the dress. It didn't help that the dress was quite distinctive due to its vibrant color. I had already thought about the possibility of someone else wearing the dress, but dismissed it because the dress was not currently being sold in stores. I even had another perfectly good outfit to wear too!
I got my silk Peter Langner wedding gown for $50.00 on ebay, the Chicago Bridal tags still on it. It was a showroom piece and needed dry cleaning which added another $75.00. My best guess that in it's season it sold for over $3000.00

My wedding dress. I was getting married at City Hall, but I still wanted a pretty white dress. (It was an ankle length column dress with a mandarian collar and keyhole neckline.) The store I went to was having a mystery sale. You received a coupon when you entered, and whatever amount was revealed under the scratch off would be your discount. The dress was already on sale--30% off. The coupon took off an additional 10%. And because the dress was missing a button and it was the last one in my size, my mom convinced the sales clerk to take off another 10%. I don't remember the original price, but I know we paid just under $40 for it. This was in the summer of 1995.
Could be the black patent leather tipped pumps I bought that were originally $70, I paid $7 and wore them for about 10 years. Always got compliments when I did. I just retired them.
Or possibly the black and red jacket I got from Kohl's for $2.50. Origianlly $80. I've only had that a couple seasons and worn it a handful of times, so probably not as cheap per wear, yet.
My Badgley Mischka wedding dress was over $9,000. It is hand beaded with Swarvoski crystals all the way down the front and the lace is handmade--exquisite!
By chance...my best friend and I went to a ritzy dept. store. just to see what the latest bridal style were…
When I tried on the dress, it fit like a glove. Breathtaking. No alterations needed.
I checked the tags...and somehow, the tag said it was a short green sheath dress by Calvin Klein. It was marked as $240. I thought I was seeing things. I knew that the salespeople would HAVE to notice that mistake.
But, apparently, the guy who rang it up, had no clue at all. AND----The dress was 40% off!
I walked out of the store with my ultimate dream designer wedding gown for a whopping $125 (with tax!)
My best find was in a local consignment shop. A knit top from Chanel, for $5. I think they didn’t notice the subtle CC stitching so they priced it low. Cream with black trim. I also scan our local Off5th. I got a great red wool DVF dress for less than $100. Heaven!
One of my best deals was a skirt from Nordstrom. It was at the end of their semi-annual sale, and I found this skirt on a rack. It was a beautiful, light tan, A-line skirt with vertical seams and a very slight flounce on the end. It was a size 6, but I was just barely back into my size 8 clothes after giving birth, so I searched for a size 8, but I couldn’t find one, so I decided to try on the size 6. It fit me perfectly, and the hem hit right at the bottom of my calves (one of my best hem lengths). I don’t remember what the original price was, but I paid only $38 for it. It’s been two years, and that skirt is still going strong and lowering my cost-per-wear every time.
Thrift-shopping is new to me. The best deals I ever had were getting $200-300 jeans for $60 at warehouse sales. And sterling silver rings for $5. That’s about it. I’d love to find something great in a thrift shop some day. My friend who’s a bargain shopper always goes to the local Ross. She found a teal pair of converse shoes for $13.
