It seems like every celebrity and their mommas (literally) is coming out with a clothing/fragrance/sneaker, etc line… Is it getting to be too much? Do we actually believe that celebrities understand what "real" people want? Who should trash their line and who should keep it?

I totally agree with you. And most of these clothes are "high end" and look more like hot mess and not worth the cost.

I don't think it is so much what the "real people" want but more like the fact that they know there are minions out there that will buy what they are hawking just because their name is on it. For example, LAMB/Harajuku Lovers - I like Gwen Stefani - but her LAMB line is way too out there for me. I like the Harajuku Lovers bags because they are canvas so they will take a banging & are light. Would I spend 80 bucks on one? Hell no but I would spend 30 which is what I did at my local Marshalls.

The more gold & "bling" you put on an item does not make it look more appealing just more trashy.
I agree with Christal that there is a whole lotta "hot mess" out there.

I'd rather know where THEY shop and what lines THEY buy from than buy from theirs. They already make enough money as it is, so why should I fund their salaries even more and from clothes? Don't most celebrities have stylists that help them anyway with their wardrobes? (except for those dreadful Olsen twins who with all their cash really need a stylist more than most!)
I'd rather see what the celebs are wearing and go find an affordable knock-off.

Nay. I know most celbrities rarely dress themselves, let alone design their own clothes. To me its overpriced, overhyped and just plain trendy. Its like all the celebrity perfume lines. Lord knows I don't want to smell like Britney…

for me it went from being a novelty to being really annoying I mean seriously (Amanda Bynes???)

If its cute and at the right price, I don't care if Kermit the Frog designed it.  Likewise, if its not my style, or out of my budget, I don't care if my favorite, favorite best friend designed it. 

Now, I agree with the posters who posited that this trend is really to capture the fashion $$$$ of those celebs' fans - well, buyer beware, I guess......

I agree, if I like the style and the price, I don't care who designed it.

Madonna's stuff at H&M was a big disappoint for me. The clothing is cheaply made and kind of boring, with some stuff bordering on ugly. Basically similar to a lot of the stuff being sold at H&M. Yet...the prices are substantially higher. Not a good combination. I already think H&M is overpriced given the quality of most of the clothing.

nay… I'd rather look for real designers at winners, and outlet stores and look fashionable in my own right.
