What do you all think of this. Using credit cards to earn reward money/points to apply to whatever it is you want.

***NOTE: This is ONLY for people who actually pay off their cards in full EVERY month.***

So, instead of writing checks or paying cash you charge it instead. Earn points off the purchases of items you are going to pay for with check/cash anyways. At the end of the month you would still be paying for the stuff you were going to buy. I think it would also help you budget too because you see how much you're spending a month and possibly cut things out. My parents remodeled their backyard doing this. They ended up with "free" cash for buying the things they buy on a regular basis like groceries and gas.

HarleyQuinn...LOOOOOOOOVE your Jackie Mason tag line.

I myself steer away from reward cards because even though I pay off my balance each month I just know that it would encourage me to charge more things like groceries which I consider a slippery slope. The only rewards card I have is from my credit union where I get rewards for things like a free box of checks...WHOOPEE!

However my sister who has a MBA AND fiscal discipline charges her kids college tuition and therefore reaps big rewards from her card so I would agree that it can work to great advantage.
