Perfect Jeans for a Petite Hourglass

I'm 5'0" with a hourglass figure and have a medium weight of 130lbs. My biggest dilemma is finding a great pair for jeans that actually fits in all the right places. Either they're too long and no tailor in sight or they fit too tight around my hip and thigh area (because apparently, really short girls are supposed to be stick thin).

In the past, I often bought the Filipino brand called "Bench" because they cost around less than $30 a pair and since they're made for smaller Asian girls, the pant length is usually on the money. I've usually gone for low-riders because I liked the way they fit around my hips and made my torso look longer, but since I've gained some pounds, wearing them has become a little unsightly, especially around my belly area.

I really want a pair for nice straight leg jeans that will help elongate my legs, but still keep my belly area in check, but I really don't know where to look other than Bench (sometimes, Anchor Blue because it's so cheap and comfortable) that will cater to my shorter figure and still within my student budget. Any suggestions?

I have the same problems. We're almost the same ( I may have you by a few pounds). Anyways, I buy jeans from the Gap believe it or not. For some reason they fit me fine. I also recently got some jeans from Steve and Barry's. Let me give you a heads up, NO Don't do it. Someone told me to try there. I also go to Marshalls and just try on different discount brands. If you can find a decent priced pair of Gloria Vanderbelt try those also. Good luck.

I have that same problem. Its very frustrating. I've spent hours trying on jeans (especially at places like Old Navy) and they just fit weird. I think that the mass market chains don't cater to petite girls with bums. I almost gave up on wearing jeans all together.

I was at Nordstrom Rack one day looking at jeans and I found a pair of Joe's Jeans for $70 (normally $160). They are by far my most favorite pair I've ever had. I would never pay full price for designer jeans, but that $70 was worth it. I have since gone to a few warehouse sales for jeans (madhouses!!) and bought a couple more pairs. The only thing is I had to have them hemmed, but my dry cleaners does it for cheap.

I guess its just a matter of whether you want to pay a little extra to get the perfect jeans. Sometimes its worth the headache!
