I've never been into Fashion until now but since I've taken up the interest I've been studying faithfully. Yet everytime I try to put myself to the test my brain freezes and I feel really lost. I just don\'t know how to shop and I really wanna get it together before I go back to college in the fall.HELP!!!!!!

Maybe it would help if we could get an idea of the styles/looks you like and your general body shape. Is there any body feature you really like? Any feature you dislike? Your budget for clothing? What makes you "freeze"?

If you freeze up when you're actually shopping at the mall due to sensory overload, I would suggest going into a store that carries either its own brand only or just a few. Since collections tend to be cohesive, this means outfits are easier to put together. Try to find such a store that also fits your style and your body shape.

For me, a lot of it has to do with the visual presentation of clothes. Sometimes, I just cannot deal with department stores or discount stores because they are cluttered and disorganized. If this pertains to you too, avoid stores that are bursting at the seams (haha) with racks and racks of clothes. Instead, start off with a store where the clothes are nicely folded and sparsely arranged, making things easier to navigate. You will probably pay more for this though.

Start slow and simple. You need to try things on in the change room (yes, I hate this part). Unfortunately shopping does take some effort and time!

How about going to some of the stores websites and creating your own "lookbook", which will consist of all the things that you like. I think you get caught up in the stores set up. Just look past it all and look at the types of pieces you really want and need.

Get help from a friend whose style sense you admire, or someone who also wants to get a new look for going back to school. It's always easier, and more fun, with someone who will give you advice and wants you to look good, too.
