After studying in fashion school Esmod Ecole de Mode in Paris and at FIT in New York, Lebanese fashion designer Reem Acra started her eponymous label in 1997. An embroidery artist, Acra’s signature intricate bead works, embroidery and use of luxe fabrics has become a big hit in the bridal market. Reese Witherspoon wore a Reem Acra dress in the movie Legally Blonde 2. After conquering the bridal industry, Acra expanded her label and have since included ready-to-wear and evening gowns worn by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, and Halle Berry.
