It seems like Emma Watson has it all; with brains and beauty, she has already earned herself the fashionista mantle even at the tender age of 23. It’s hard to believe that the first time we saw this British beauty was when she was just eleven years old in the first installment of what would become one of the highest grossing movie franchises of all time. Now, not only is Emma a spokesmodel for Lancome, she was front and center for a number of Burberry ad campaigns that no doubt helped to increase the brand’s popularity among twenty-somethings. Emma has a style that can be described as classy, with an edge. For someone so young, she exhibits a great amount of elegant restraint; you’ll never see her bearing too much skin just to get attention. She gets plenty of that for all the right reasons: her talent, her wit and her ever-lovely (and stylist-free!) fashion choices.

Celebrity Style Deconstructed – Emma Watson

In what has become a standing tradition, the Heart Truth fashion show, sponsored by Diet Coke, kicked off New York’s Fashion Week. The show, which features red designer dresses (Marc Bouwer, Rachel Roy, etc) worn by AMAXing celebrities, raises awareness for heart health. Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women in the U.S.

The Celeb Models: There was no amaxing Liza Minelli performance to shut it down (but really, that would be hard to top) like previous years, but the celebs who were there were absolutely stunning.

From Christise Brinkley, who looked stunning in a floor length Pamela Rowland dress with matching shawl to Chaka Kahn, who has the skin of gods, working it in a Chris March red animal print gown with matching floor length coat (and a wig with red highlights- cause that is how you do it if you’re Chaka Kahn) to the ever beautiful Lala Anthony in a red body clinging gown by Rachel Roy.
The Amazing Minka Kelly

However the celeb of the night had to be Minka Kelly. Thanks to the power of Netflix, I recently watched Friday Night Lights (if you haven’t seen it, you really must, it’s brilliant) and discovered Minka. The woman is ungodly beautiful. And course they put her in a floor length sequined wrap stunner from Dianne Von Furstenberg (think Diana Ross during her “Long Hangover” days ) that was the ultimate motivation to loose a few pounds.
Pleasant Surprise: I want to give a special shout out to the fabulous women from Diet Coke/Coca Cola who were rocking some pretty awesome red dresses themselves. You don’t have to be a celebrity to look fabulous and to have a healthy heart.

FOKer (Friend of Kathryn) Alissa of the blog stylish curves recently discovered that H&M is now carrying plus size clothing in their 34th and 6th store called “H&M+”. We’re thinking this may be an expansion of the “Inclusive” collection, a “limited edition” collection, sold, of course only online AND in Europe.
While this is exciting, ’cause plus size fashion is seriously non-existent at this point, the line at the herald sq store pales in comparison to the line in Europe. We (meaning really just I) expect more from H&M, especially in light of their recent designer collaboration.
Head to Alissa’s blog to see pictures from the 34th Street store.

H&M Debuts Plus Size Line in the US and Tells No One About It
We just received word that a New York Yankees “fragrance” is being launched at the end of Feb. According to the invite, the line of fragrances for both men and women were “inspired by baseball’s most legendary franchise”. Okay….
I’ve been to the old Yankees stadium, and, if memory serves me correctly, it smelled like cheap beer, dirty socks and George Steinbrenner’s money. I don’t many women (guys, well that could be a different story) who want to smell like that, but I could be wrong. However, you gotta give the Yankees props for trying to milk every ounce of marketing dollars from the name.
