Yea or Nay: Juicy Couture Bangle Bracelets, $68.00 at Nordstrom.com

Juicy Couture Bracelet, $68.00 at Nordstrom

You know I have to give the women behind juicy couture major props for being brilliant marketers. I mean anyone who can get people to buy $200 track suits made from towels with corny saying written across their butts deserves some major marketing cred. However, the extension of the brand leaves a lot to be desired. ($400 handbags that look ultra cheap, jeans for $150, etc.) And the 14k gold plated bracelets, shown above for $68.00, are no different. Why would anyone pay $70 for these bracelets, especially one the essential advertises a brand? I mean, couldn’t you find something like this on Canal or in Venice somewhere for like 10 bucks?

If you take the words off of the bracelets, I would like them. If I actually spent more than $30 on jewelry, I could see myself paying $70 for a set of those bracelets minus the words. I like the look of enamel and gold. Juicy Couture, like the young celebs who wear their clothes and carry their accessories, seem to be overpaid, overexposed, and undertalented.

Those bracelets are a nay, but some Juicy jewelry is quite lovely.  I’m too old for most of the clothing, but I do have a couple jewelry items that are fun.

To quote Jeff Foxworthy:
You may be an excellent grandmother but you’re not “Juicy”

He actually said that!
BTW, $68 is almost enough to buy two of the cheaper Juicy charms.

NAY! I like them enough, but they just don’t do it. Maybe if they were $40 it would seem like a good over-priced gift for teems… but not this.

Nay but I did spend over 500 on lucite bracelet by Dior and a Chanel ring….But they are much more classic then this…Juicy is ok but it is really cheaply made…Kinda like DKNY like I use to buy when I was in high school

NAY! these are hideous and cheap looking. I’m definitely all for lounging around in juicy terry cloth sweats that were on sale at loehmans but their jewelry is tacky and unsophisticated. You are better off saving up and investing in a Chanel resin bangle that will never go out of style and is much more subdued. The Juicy designers wouldn’t be caught dead with these bangles- they run around in Hermes and Manolos.

I personally think that they could look really nice teamed with the right outfit. Sophistication isn’t about what you wear its how you wear it. And at the end of the day if you’ve got the money why not. Please bare in mind that you lot have it cheap, I saw that bracelet in Selfridges, London last week and its price is the equivalent of 110 dollars. I agree that Juicy can be quite tacky but thats not necessarily the item, its the person. If Kate Moss wore it tommorow they would be sold out by the weekend and vogue would be calling it this seasons must have. Then again if someone like Paris Hilton wore it many would choose to use it as a serviette ring.

Dear Juicy,

Have fun catering to 12 year olds who’s parents let them buy $68 tacky bracelets (but save your fabulous knits and jeans for us)

Love,
Stella

P.S. The tracksuits need to go as well.

I totally agree - they look ugly cheap and Juicy Couture has never been a favorite of mine.  I don’t “get it” at all.

I tell you, there is nothing more appealing than running around with “Juicy Girl” on your butt.

Not.

I actually have this bangle and it was expensive and yes it is cute.  I receive a lot of compliments about it and not from teeny boppers. I also have a Tiffany necklace with the matching bracelet and that was expensive as well, with my Tiffanys set I paid a lot of money for sterling silver…

And they fit amazingly, so those of us who look good like our clothes to show off our hard work and what our mama gave us ;)! the purses are very durable and cute! tons of spaces for your stuff!! The cutest socks and jewelry! The clothing is made for princesses and that is exactly who buys it. Of course there is going to be expensive brands out there, ever heard of Gucci or Chanel?
