Yea or Nay: Juicy Couture Bangle Bracelets, $68.00 at Nordstrom.com

Juicy Couture Bracelet, $68.00 at Nordstrom

You know I have to give the women behind juicy couture major props for being brilliant marketers. I mean anyone who can get people to buy $200 track suits made from towels with corny saying written across their butts deserves some major marketing cred. However, the extension of the brand leaves a lot to be desired. ($400 handbags that look ultra cheap, jeans for $150, etc.) And the 14k gold plated bracelets, shown above for $68.00, are no different. Why would anyone pay $70 for these bracelets, especially one the essential advertises a brand? I mean, couldn’t you find something like this on Canal or in Venice somewhere for like 10 bucks?

No way.  They are cute but the price is insane.  For that price I want some jewels in it.

Huge NAY. You are paying for a piece of junk that only advertises for them. It’s sick how much they overprice Juicy stuff.. You can find better quality stuff at a store like Target for way less..

Nay… I think they’re tacky and way overpriced. Come to think of it, that’s how I feel about the whole brand.

Yeah, Juicy is definitely geared toward 17 year olds who shop with Daddy’s credit card.  And it’s also geared toward 40 year old women who shop with their 17 year old daughters and Daddy’s credit card. Pretty much anyone who can’t spell sophisticated.

I DON’T CARE FOR THESE BRACELETS. HOWEVER, I DO HAVE 2 JUICEY LEATHER HANDBAGS AND THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. I DON’T AGREE WITH THEM LOOKING CHEAP. BUT I MUST SAY THE LEATHER IS SO HEAVY THAT I DO NOT USE THEM FOR EVERYDAY USE. WHEN I DO CARRY MY JUICEY BAGS I GET PLENTY OF COMPLIMENTS.
P.S. I DID PURCHASE THE BAGS ON SALE IN WOODBURY COMMONS AND SHOPBOP.COM. I WOULDN’T SPEND THE ACTUAL RETAIL PRICE, WHICH ARE LESS THAN REASONABLE.

Nay…they look chintzy; would rather spend the money on a more classic bangle that I could wear for years instead of a season.

I vote Nay.  Juicy is totally overpriced and ridiculous.  Even their outlet at Woodbury Commons is ridiculous.  The clothing isn’t good enough quality to charge those prices

Bleh, NAY! they look ugly, unsophisticated and cumbersome (at least if you have to work with your hand while looking fabulous all day). I think I’ve seen better even at Claire’s. Their handbags are so-so. I have friends with several, and although some look definitely cheap, some (particularly a purple one my friend has) look fabulous. I would pay that amount only for a classy, timeless bracelet.

Big nay.  What is the point (other than to tell people you can “afford” to buy this junk).

I have to say yea, with this exception. I buy my Juicy items from Loehmann’s and Smartbargains.com. I got a really cute pink all-leather tote for $85 dollars. I do like the jewelry. I have the CUTEST AQUARIUS charm that I get many compliments on!!!!!!

Definitely NAY. I think they’re pretty fugly. $68 is way too much for them, especially since they’re so trendy.

Not for me at all but they seem pretty compatible with the rest of what Juicy sells—flashy and kind of cheap looking.

As for Target, decent design at *mart prices is what they do throughout the store to begin with—that’s their market niche, that’s what distinguishes them from Walmart or Kmart or whoever else. Look at the non-designer branded stuff they sell—it’s very much the same look at the stuff with names.

Juicy Couture’s fan base is limted to those that feel they need to express to the world that their rear end is juicy. Seeing that spread across the behind of a 40 year old women is priceless, but like the pants these braclets are TACKY! why the heck would you purchase a 70 dollar braclet expressing your jucy stuck up attitude. If you want to spend 70 bucks on jewerly please go to Tiffany!

Wow…goes to show that there is a huge MARKET for anything with a label.  They wouldn’t make them if they didn’t think they would sell.

I like the gold, and I like the “idea,” but I’m tired of stupid phrases, and I’m even more tired of shameless branding.

I think $68.00 is alot of money for a bracelet..especially since it will be out of style as fast as it is in style.  Good advertising for Juicy though..

the juicy couture label isn’t for budget fashionistas… like the lady before me said, people who are no brains and all money… that said, juicy couture has these beautiful quilted leather flats and fabulous quilted leather bags in very sophisticated color palettes… some of their shoes and bags are in classic colors and formultations…
and who the heck buys juicy not on sale or not at loehmanns?
