Yea or Nay: Disney Couture - Alice in Wonderland Bangle Bracelet, $150.00 at thinkher.com

March 5, 2007

“THIS PRODUCT IS NO LONGER BEING SOLD”

ChanelGivenchyDiorDisney?

Disney is jumping on the high-end fashion bandwagon with it’s Disney Couture line.  The collection features high-priced clothing and accessories, like the Alice in Wonderland inspired bracelet shown above. Now, I like the bracelet, but Mickey and gang must have been smoking something on Space Mountain to think that anyone would pay $150 for the bracelet shown above.  Yes, Eva Longoria wore it in that Jessica Simpson roller skating video, but I highly doubt she would even pay $150 bucks for the resin and gold plated bracelet.  What do you think? Should Disney even have a couture line? What’s next?? McDonald’s serving gourmet food?

It’s very pretty, and I really like it, but .. no, not $150. Maybe .. $15.

Noki 2 March 5, 2007

Definitely NAY!

I like Disney, I even think the bracelet is adorable, but not for 150 dollars.

Manasvi 3 March 5, 2007

I think its a cool and original idea… But I don’t think Eva Longoria probably paid for it. Probably came in some sort of swag bag. I don’t think that I would buy Disney Couture if I could afford real high end designers. Even if I was a kid of a rich parent.

Michelle 4 March 5, 2007

Nay, no way I’m paying 150.00 for that!

Bulletproof Diva 5 March 5, 2007

yea, I read somewhere that Quincy Jones’ daughter was designing this. Disney and couture seem like an oxymoron to me.

anita 6 March 5, 2007

TACKY!  TACKY!  TACKY!!

The Jokimo Image 7 March 5, 2007

The bracelet is cute, it is definetely a little pricey but if it were on sale for half price, I would purchase it.

christal 8 March 5, 2007

This is crazy. Does the words Disney and Couture even go together?  Lets keep Disney for the kids only.  And it wasnt that cute in the Jessica Simpson video anyways.

I’m all for companies trying to expand their marketshare like petites, plus sizes, couture, etc.  But $150 for resin and gold plated – YIKES!!  And it’s not even bling-fabulous.  Maybe Disney should concentrate more on putting out better quality children’s films and less time on high end fashion.

Its cute but not $150 cute.

Ashley` 12 March 5, 2007

Well the bracelet is cute and everything, but I really don’t think that Disney can go couture.  They are also planning to do home furnishings soft lines (pillows, lamps, etc) and I don’t think I would spend that much money on those things either!  If I want to wear Disney jewlery, I will steal it from my little sister!!

Petite Plz 13 March 6, 2007

I’m not even sure I’ll pay 20 bucks for that! I do like the bangle, but I know I can find similar item with MUCH lower price.

ps. love your gourmet McDonald’s remark lol

Mary 14 March 5, 2007

I live near Disneyland and they have an entire store of their couture line at Downtown Disney and the stuff isn’t that cute, its overpriced and it didn’t look like it was very good quality either, so nay nay nay!  There’s cuter stuffa t the normal Disney store, its expensive but not that much!

flora 15 March 5, 2007

yeah that is really stupid. i mean, you could get something way nicer for 150!! i don’t even like the bracelet. i just don’t get it.

suz 16 March 6, 2007

Big nay.

But it will sell.

Radiah Hubbert 17 March 6, 2007

I say nay to the high-end Disney Jewelry. I don’t understand who this is supposed to appeal to?

Anne 18 March 6, 2007

Nay!  I wouldn’t pay $1.50 for it.  Disney should concentrate on producing movies, not wanna-be-fine jewelry.

deja pseu 19 March 6, 2007

Think I saw some Disney Judith Lieber bags at Saks yesterday.  They had Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and the Cheshire Cat (and a couple others I don’t remember).  I thought, “who buys Judith Leiber for little girls?!?!”

denitria 20 March 6, 2007

funny thing is kidada jones is a part of this. if i recall correctly it was her idea, and she’s an employee (partner?) there…

i wanted to see what the fuss was about, so i checked out the “couture” line on disneyshopping.com all i have to say is that who are they kidding? the idea is cute but really who is crazy enough to shell out $200-$300 bucks for kiddie jewlery? I can’t lie there were some things that i liked, such as the Pirates of the Caribbean Silver Sword Clasp Necklace, but at $125 i’ll wait till it goes on sale ( as some of the other stuff on the site is already reduced )

k 23 March 6, 2007

It’s a nay. It’s cute, but the materials look cheap, like the stuff that they make for kids.

Melissa 24 March 6, 2007

I Also think this Disney Bracelet is cute but definitely not a buck fifty!!! Sorry Disney!!!

talley 25 March 7, 2007

maybe $10.  and maybe if i was 12.

Tamara 26 March 7, 2007

Unfortunately there will be Disney addicts out there happy to shell out $150 for anything with a favored logo. Look at the success of those heinous LV bags.

LSC 27 March 8, 2007

The materials look cheap, but I’m sure the goal is to attract the daughters of wealthy, indulgent parents. i’d give it a NAY!

helen 28 May 20, 2007

Mc Donalds does serve gourmet food in its big city locations. . . AND YES I would buy that bangle-

emilee 29 June 2, 2007

I love it! it’s something familiar we’ve all grown up with, or watched the disney films a hundered times, but now it’s matured like us!  i would buy it…if i didn’t have bills!

lulu 30 July 12, 2007

150$ for something I could find at a dollar store? Do you even have to ask? NAY!

disneycouture. 31 July 3, 2008

this bracelet is amazing! not my favourite by disney couture but definatley a good one! if any of you have looked in a magazine or gone to a store other than dollarama or claires, you would know that a nice, stylish bracelet would be over $100. i am surprised that it would only be $150. i think that disney couture is a fabulous idea and it will definatley be famous! eva longoria wore one in a famous music video and nicole richie has also been seen wearing disney couture multiple times. so dont hate if you dont have one or know anything about them
