okay, let’s be real for a second. Being able to wear a beautiful fur coat is the epitome of femininity and class and i personally that these animal rights groups are getting very stuck on stupid with their anti-fur propaganda, especially since once-a-upon-a-time, the only ones who were wearing fur were the super-rich, the rock stars, movie stars and all the other so-called ‘beautiful people’. They need to go get a cup of shut the youknowwhat up and get in a corner and just chill out.
My grandmother, her sisters and my mother all left me their furs. I love to wear my fur collection. I refuse to be scared into wearing a synthetic by the PETA mafia. Look at it this way… fur is green!
Okay, lets be a little *more* real for a second.
1) It’s a good thing nobody told cavemen, Eskimo hunters, or Davy Crockett that furs were “the epitome of femininity.” ‘Cause when I think of that old coonskin hat, I totally think “Davy Crokkett! What a lady!” Femininity has something to do with females, not dead animals.
2) I love the “but it’s been done for centuries” argument. Truly. That’s why I support slavery, the subjugation of women, lynching blacks, and hating gay people. They’re traditions! Yay tradition!
The problem with vintage fur is that you give the impression that wearing fur is ok. People can’t necessarily tell that it’s vintage. If you don’t want to use it and don’t want to waste it, donate it to an animal shelter. They use it for bedding.
Oh, and nobody is forcing you to replace your furs with something that’s bad for the environment. That’s a false dichotomy and a poor argument. Get a wool coat - wool is cut from the animal without killing it (yes, I know PETA types don’t like wool either. But they are not the only moral arbiters).
