To celebrate our new look and JCPenney’s new spring designer looks, we will giveaway one (1) outfit everyday from now until Friday, February 20, 2009.
At midnight on 2/19, one lucky winner will win the outfit shown to the right:

The Prize: Multi-colored top and pants set from the Nicole by Nicole Miller line at JC Penney.

Why you want this:  We like how the top has the Nicole Miller signature print, without the Nicole Miller signature price. Plus you can always use an extra pair of black pants.

Avoid using oil-based products (moisturizers/make-up/hair products etc.) before (or wait at least an hour before for it to absorb) going out into the sun. The oil can fry your skin and hair in direct sunlight! Well, not literally, but can it cause gradual damage. So, avoid doing it often. Opt for aqua- based products instead during the warm months.

Instead of heavy foundation I opt for the much lighter tinted moisturizer in the summer. It has just the right amount of coverage, but dosnt make my face feel weighed down. And it has SPF! Bobby Brown makes a good one.

It’s all about great accessories.  I have lots of wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses and -my favorite- folding hand fans.  These things are all beautiful and practical on hot summer days (and I couldn’t live without my SPF 80!)

My beauty tip? Tinted moisturizer with SPF. You get the all the benefits wrapped into one: light coverage, a drink for the skin, and the protection from the sun.

I like to minimize my hair routine in the summer- I let it air dry as often as possible, and let it wave naturally.  And I use a good anti-frizz product!

My best summer beauty tip is to realize that less is more!  If you’re going to be outside, some tinted moisturizer along with a bit of mascara and lip gloss or stain is all you need.  Any more looks overdone.  And don’t forget sunscreen with a UVA-protectant!!

The summer sun and heat can turn any skin type into oily!  I have combination skin, and its very difficult to find the balance between oily and dry.

I use hand wipes (like the ones you get when your boyfriend orders ribs) to clean off the excess oil.  You can also buy hand wipes in packets at the drugstore. I like Nice N Clean Antibacterial Moist Wipes with Moisturizer & Aloe Pocket-Pak ( http://www.harmondiscount.com/074887447609.html ).  To freshen up before meetings, I wipe one over my face.  The moisture is refreshing on a hot day, and mosturizers (usually aloe) keep your face from drying out.  Your face will be glowing; but not from the oil!

I hang out on a sandy beach for about half an hour. I live near a big lake, and go after work to look for seaglass along the beach. The sea breeze is great for my skin, the late summer sun gives me a little glow, and the sand exfoliates my feet.

My summer tip is less is better! It’s too hot for all that make-up and stuff! So I would just use the basics:SPF I would get one for the hair and one for the skin,a light moisturizer and lotion, and a nice lip gloss. That’s it!
