What to Buy Fall 2007: Nine West

Fall is in full swing, but since you’re a budget kind of fashionista, you’re probably spreading your purchases out just a bit; with fall sales also in full swing, you should be glad you did.

Take Nine West, for example—regular-priced items are way out of the budget range, but when the sales kick in – that’s when you make your move. Right now, assuming you look carefully, Nine West has all kinds of style for just a little less green than usual.

To make your shopping life even easier, Kathryn and I have picked our faves, just for you:

The ankle boot is hot, and so is gray, and this terrific little Naples number has both. $69.99, on sale here.

Nine West Demory

Heels are great, but every now and again a girl needs a break, in a little flat that’s far from boring. This bright blue Demory buckle flat is $39.99, on sale.

Nine West pencil skirt

Apparel at Nine West tends to be a little out of the bargain price-range, but this Wild Card high-waisted pencil skirt could easily be a wardrobe staple – making it worth the $74 you’ll invest.

You can’t leave without a good handbag, and this fall a patent tote will take you everywhere. This one is $39.99 right now.

Nine West bracelet

And, finally, fun statement jewelry at a discount is one of my favorite things – pick up this attention-grabbing grommet bracelet for only $14.99.

I love Nine West stuff!  Unfortunately, even the sales prices are too expensive, and I end up buying at Ross—just last night, I picked up a Nine West skirt very similar to the pencil one shown for $20!

Their lovely shoes almost always fit me perfectly. However, I think the leather might be a bit too soft for city wear. I can only get a good year out of them before the leather starts to fall off, particularly if they have pointy toes. I’ve gotten a couple pairs cobbled before, but it’s only a matter of months before they start to fall apart again. Marshalls in Boston always has a good selection of Ninewest, so I just get them there. At 30 to 45 bucks, it’s not quite as painful as when you buy them for 65 bucks at Macy’s and then watch them slowly lose their perfection.

i just got the best clutch from macy’s—the nine west fold-over clutch in cobalt blue. it was $59 and macy’s (in-store) had it 25% off, plus a $21-and-change refund from a previous purchase, and 15% off by opening up a macy’s card so after all of those discounts i ended up paying $16-and-change for the bag. it’s a larger clutch than what i am used to, but the color is amazing and it holds a lot! here is a link to the item:

i recommend an in-store purchase because at this time i haven’t seen it cheaper on any other website.
