Last week I had the pleasure of viewing Isaac Mizrahi’s Fall and Holiday 2006 collections at the offices of their NY publicists. The collections represent a new maturity in mass market market fashions- better fabrics, solid construction, and affordable prices. The Holiday collection was particularly impressive, with long flowing empire waist evening gowns in chiffon like materials (perfect for spring 2007 as well) and a black tafetta evening coat dress that looked like something from Calvin Klein’s Fall 2006 line (unfortunately, these items won’t be available until early November/December, so they aren’t feature in this post). Here’s some of my favorite picks from the collections.
- Brocade jacket, $39.99(Shop Etc. Top Floor Deal)

Faux Fur Trim Coat, $69.99 (Shop Etc. Top Floor Deal)
>
Stretch Pencil Skirt, $25.49
Couture Dress, $38.24

I really like that first jacket, but I think 3/4 sleeves on coats look ridiculous, like the sleeves shrank. Oh well.
The pencil skirt also looks nice.
3/4 sleeves on jackets – good. 3/4 sleeves on coats, as in outerwear – bad, stupid and impractical. Especially as elbow-length gloves are hard to find, and you’re limited to wearing 3/4 sleeve garments under it, and you’d freeze in the wintertime unless you live south of the Mason/Dixon line!
I love the empire waist, do you know if he is bringing back empire skirts too? If so, what are the best tops to wear with them? Thanx
Congratulations!!!! I saw you on ET last night (or some simular show). I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now so it felt like one of my own was being showcased! You go girl!
This is cute, but have you seen his luggage? I was in Target yesterday and I went to the luggage section and I saw the cutest rounded suitcase that was WAY roomy, and it had inline wheels and a handle that pulled out. His laptop briefcases are VERY sturdy and roomy as well. You’ll get cheaper name brand luggage from somewhere like TJ Maxx or Marshalls (I got a lime green american tourister valued at 100 dollars for only forty), but geez-the style! THE STYLE, People!!!!
There’s a killer patterned skirt shown on the main page of Isaac’s Target store (shown on the model to his right in the fuschia turtleneck) that I LOVE. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be available at target.com
Why would they showcase a skirt they’re not selling? And how the heck do I get it?
i like the clothes especially the jacket
I think these looks are coming back in as I saw one of these items on eBay the other night and found your site whilst researching the brand
