I live in the OC, but haven’t been to the beach since the summer of 2005!!!!  Last summer I was on pregnancy bedrest and this summer I have been BUSY with my baby (who couldn’t be out in the sun or use sunscreen until he turned 6 months this past week)...I NEED to go to the beach and remember why I pay skyhigh rent to live in the OC!

I need a day at the beach because:
I live in Michigan. 
I work at Macy’s 40 hours a week. 
I have spent a high percentage of the money I’m making for college on super fantastic deals (but on clothes I don’t really need). 
I am 19 and am taking out my SECOND 12,000 dollar loan to pay for college. 
Without the help of my parents. 
and mostly, because I need to meet a cute boy.  (and show off my nice swim suit, 50%off!)

I need a day at the beach because….I live in the mountains where it usually beautiful in the Summer but right now it is 53 degrees and raining. I need a change of scenery especially if it’s sunny and sandy.

I need a day at the beach - I’m a student at Columbia U all year (including summer right now), working towards a Visual Arts/Political Science double major, and working a part-time job calling political offices of state senators/representatives trying to get legislation enacted to keep textbook companies from leeching students dry (which, if you’ve ever contacted a politician, you know is an often thankless task of hearing endless double-talk). Living in NY, going to class, meanwhile, is quickly swallowing up all my money so I hardly spend on anything beyond food, and even that, hardly.
On the social end of things, a close old friend who was once a beau has told me he plans to continue pursuing me despite that I’m now dating someone else seriously, which is just irritating. He also commissioned me to draw his latest CD’s cover, and his description basically boils down to packing as much as I possibly can onto the paper; every time we talk about it, he wants me to add something new to it; if it’s not the magic flying piano, it’s oil wells in a midwestern landscape.
I’m not yet 21, so I can’t go out for a drink, so I REALLY NEED A DAY AT THE BEACH.

This is why I feel I need a day at the beach:

I have 7 children. At home. 6 of them are boys. At home. The eldest is 17, the youngest is 3 months. At home. All day. Every day. At home.

I definately need a day at the beach, because I am learning to be my own best friend. I have put others before myself, and this time around I am really trying to give myself some love. While I am hanging at the beach I will be writing in my journal about all things that I have to be grateful for, as well as what I hope to accomplish for myself in the near future. Contests are not something that I usually enter because I am not that lucky. I thought this contest would be fun so beach here I come.

I just graduated from college, and I really need a day at the beach to relax and refresh myself for the upcoming job hunt…by the way I live in the hottest state of Arizona and I could use a swim in the ocean!

I need a day at the beach because my workload at my job just DOUBLED. I never had time to take a lunch break before- but at least I managed to eat some crackers while I worked. Now with this added bs, I can’t even do that. I’ve been here for 10 hours with no time for a break. I can only write this now- because my shift is done! It’s 12:30am- and i still haven’t had lunch yet. I’M STARVING!!!!!!!

I need a day at the beach to aid me in keeping sight of my goal. My family has fallen upon hard times as of late, and as the youngest of four I have felt the majority of this. I am applying to colleges this year, and I have three jobs this summer to pay for my application fees and to accrue finances to aid me when I do (if I do, at this point) make it to college. Home is currently a place I cannot bear to be, as I think many of us know that when a family has stress, the members tend to take it out on one another. The only time I have had a smile on my face this year is when I go online at night after my jobs and look through the stores, putting together outfits and just dreaming of the day I can have some of these pieces. A day at the beach, to me, would mean a day to walk away from these problems, lay in the sand, and continue the dreaming I have currently paused. I feel that this break would do me a world of good, and I can return to everyday life refreshed and with my goal still within reach. Thanks for your time.

I need a day at the beach to relax and get ready to face the upcoming school year. The summer hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park, but the school year brings 5 AM mornings and 2 AM nights. One day to treat ME at the beach will bring me the strength to deal with the fall.

I need a day at the beach so bad! I have had no time to give myself a beach day. This summer has been so stressful for myself and my family. I’ve been working and going to school non stop all summer long trying to make enough money to get by.  My mothers boyfriend passed away earlier in the summer and life has been so hectic ever since. I’ve spent all my extra time with my mother making sure she is okay, and helping her with anything that she needs. My mom has always supported me on her own with almost no help from my father (They are divorced) and now he has completely stopped the little bit of help he was giving. I have been working my butt off to make money for school and it just doesn’t seem to be paying off. A day to get my mind off of this would be fantastic! It just seems to be one thing after another this summer…

I need a day at the beach because after many hours of standing and walking around at work in the hospital, I need a day to forget about my worries, put my patients at the back of my mind, and focus on getting back in touch with myself.

I have been in Taiwan for the past year and being able to indulge on a weekend of pure beach decadence would be a welcome home for me!

I need a day at the beach because summer is the busiest time of the year for me at work. Instead of relaxing at the beach, I have to put in extra (unpaid) hours at my job. It’s August and I am pale, stressed and don’t have that healthy glow I see others have. My one trip to a beach was on a Caribbean vacation and I on Day Two got a sun rash from the strong Caribbean sun and had to stay indoors the rest of the time. I need a day at my New England Beach!

I would love a day at the beach. My fiance broke up with me about 4 months ago and I’m taking the time to heal and find peace. We were together for over 5 yrs so it hasn’t been easy to move forward, but I think I’m doing well considering everything. I need a day at the beach to relax, have fun and remember that life is beautiful. And although I’m going through so many changes, I can do anything now and life is full of infinite possibilities.

It’s the summer before my senior year of college, and even though I want to go travel and see the sights before I graduate, I’m stuck working 4 jobs this summer to make tuition/ textbook money. I need a day at the beach because, well, being at Notre Dame makes me miss home (southern California) and our beautiful beaches, and I just plain need a day off! What better way than to do it at the beach?

I need a day at the beach!  I’m a new mom, so relaxation is at a premium around here.  Plus, I’m being forced to return to work in a little over a week, and I could certainly use a bit of a distraction to take my mind off of that.

I am a child protective supervisor and between getting beat up in the newspapers, screamed at by parents and browbeaten by administrators a day at the beach is juest the thing to maybe get a lighter perspective before beginning my last year of graduate school. I need a day at the beach because I’ve been chronically ill for 4 years, and while many people think lying around the house is relaxing and restful, it’s not!  I’m starting college this fall and am a stressed about quite a few things.  A day at the beach enables me to relax and forget about a lot of my stresses, and even a bit perhaps about being sick.

I’m in the Navy and we have been deployed for around 6 months now and the job that i have on board the ship makes it to where i don’t see daylight very often at all. very depressing and stressful! Worst of all, i won’t even get to see my family for the holidays when we do come back, because we are going back out around that time. i need a day at the beach!!
