I would love a D&B bag full of great stuff. I’ve been taking a class this summer and it ends this week. I’ll have a few days off before starting all over again. I need a bright spot. Thanks, keep up the good work!
I moved to New Jersey last year and still don’t have a good explanation to friends why New Jersians call it “the shore” rather than “the beach!” I’d love to do some firsthand research…. =)
I would love a day at the beach! A day to let my two small children run around without having to go after them: careful with that! get off the furniture! While they run and play, I can read my favorite magazines and indulge my inner fashionista!
just finished a fitness boot camp and now it’s time to relax - a beautiful bag to take on the beach would be fabulous!
I need a day at the beach because I am about to become a first-time mom and I am terrified. Getting away from it all will help me to relax, think, and enjoy the last days of just being myself before I take on this enormous responsibility.
Every needs a break…no better way than going to the beach.
I am a mom of six kids and a grandson. I would love to get away to the beach and not take my cell phone. You can’t believe how many times a day my phone rings just from my kids for something. I need the vacation to read a book, listen to some music and just tune out.
What girl can’t use another bag! Maybe if I win this bag I’ll win a trip to Vegas someday to use it :)
Why do I need a day at the beach? because I live in Tennessee! Enough said…....
Please enter me in this fun contest. I need a day at the beach because I have been without a supervisor at work since last October. I have been running an entire office by myself! My new boss starts next week and it would be fun to celebrate the occasion with a day off!
I NEED a day at the beach because:
I work 40 hours a week in a machine shop with 35 other men and NO women.
I’m 5’2” and work on a race team’s pit crew with 5 more men.
I am a full-time student in a engineering program. Need I say more men?
I’ve got to RELAX with some of my lady friends :)!!
Would love to win the day at the beach contest. I recently went through a very ugly divorce and have two small children that I love very much. It would be nice to have something positive happen in my life right now.
Thank You.
I need a day at the beach because this summer i have been taking care of my mom. She had a stroke in Jan. and was in the hospital for a month and 1/2 and came home. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I brought her to her therapies which lasted three hours. Then after her therapies I had to go to work. She graduated from her therapies about a couple weeks ago but school is about to start soon. I haven’t been to the beach at all this year.

Hmmmm, the cry of the gulls, the wind in my hair, the harsh sun beating down, the sand in the derriere - why put myself through this when I can cool down and relax with all the goodies from Defend. And once I am relaxed I can take my D & B weekender and goodies everywhere so I I can kick back, relax and enjoy my time, again and again and again - Shear bliss.
Like all budget fashionistas, I love swag. What could be better than style, beauty, and music to celebrate the summer. I love this newletter.
I would love a day at the beach!! I miss the beach it is 8 hours away!! D&B is my favorite just can’t afford it on a social worker pay check. Also love the budget fashionista!
Here’s my story as to why I need a day at the beach with my wonderful little cousin Jennifer (who would end up receiving this bag for her 16th birthday):
I have lived on Long Island my entire life. About 90% of my life was spent at the beach. The beach was my safe haven for days that we were off from school, for nights when I just needed to get away and think, for amazing times with my closest friends, for days that we weren’t technically off from school, for romance and for break-ups. The beach was everything to me, however so were my career goals.
I ended up at 21 achieving my career goal and moving to Vermont to work for my dream company (I’m a surfer and snowboarder - I worked for a snowboard company). Unfortunately, after working 1 year in my “dream job” they announced their plans to relocate. I was unable to relocate because of many reasons - a decision that to this day challenges me and makes me constantly ask “What If?”
Now I am 22 and while I’m able to pick up random freelance jobs, I have fallen into a severe depression. Without my fulltime job, I no longer feel valued. I was lucky enough to be given a severence package which has carried me through these past few months but the emotional pain that comes with the depression is not worth it. Now with a lease that I cannot afford to break and a serious boyfriend who I live with - I feel as if I am a prisoner in my own home. I am now trying as best as possible to fight this depression by volunteering at animal shelters. I was awarded a grant from Vermont state. I am now back in college for a graduate certificate program.
My days are empty and I really have no one to talk to. In a situation like this when I lived back at home, I would go to the beach and forget everything. I would grab my surf board and the world would just stop for me. Of course… Vermont has a “beach”. That is… if you call a big lake and rocks that were brought in by a dump truck a “beach”. You can’t surf on a lake!!
5 years ago my aunt, uncle and two cousins moved down to Florida. Only in the past month was I able to see them for the first time since they left. My once 10 year old cousin is now about to turn 16 in December! For that short amount of time I was able to hang out with my cousin, I realized how close we really were and how important it is to keep our family together.
I have secretly planned a short vacation in November to drive down to Florida and surprise my cousin Jennifer with two tickets to see her first music concert ever! This will be a chance for us to become closer and for me to get my mind off the problems at home. Not to mention - I’ll be able to lay on the beaches of Florida! Back to where I feel most at home… the beach! Even if it’s for a brief amount of time, it will still mean the world to me to be with my beloved family and my beloved beach.
I need a day at the beach to relax and rewind…...no kids or husband allowed!!! Take time for myself for a change. Relaxation days are hard to come by…between our three son’s school activities, sporting practices/games and running my own business (working full-time plus) there is not alot of “free” time. A day at the beach sounds great and something to look forward too.
I need a day out at the beach, seriously I have been so stressed out with everything going on in my life recently! My sister got married last weekend and I had to stand up, and the wedding lasted the whole weekend and I had the flu but I still showed up! Plus my parents are going through a divorce right now, it is so hard to be there for support and at the same time trying to keep my grades up and study for my midterms! One Last thing, me and my live in boyfriend are having problems, and I am wondering should I really renew my apartment least with him this month?
I have been working so hard all summer & dying in the Phoenix heat. But I am planning my beach wedding in November & that would be one awesome gift bag to take!
Why do I need a day at the beach, let me count the ways…
I need a day at the beach, to rest, relax and get away
From the drudgeries that bespeckle my life day-to-day.
And to rejuvinate my little body, and get a lttle tan maybe.
And dream of chocloate, shoes, and mangoes, in a land far-away!
le sigh….
I need a day at the beach because all summer I have been working in a stuffy office everyday and babysitting on weekends, in order to save money for college. I am leaving in four days for school and did not get to spend one day at the beach with my friends! I am also going to school in Arizona and will be far away from my east coast beaches, and the west coast ones won’t be accessible to a college freshman with no car! =(
I need another day at the beach because I just came home from the beach at beautiful Destin, Florida, and I miss my family!
