My perfect bag is a bright red or blue or black or yellow leather medium tote with interior pockets and longish flat leather straps so I can comfortably hoist it on my shoulder.  When I need it to, the ideal bag expands to become a large tote to haul all my and my 4-year-old’s “necessities.” When I’m in a store or going out to dinner, ideal bag contracts to the size of a chic clutch! Sigh ... seems there is no ONE ideal bag—that’s why I need a year’s worth to choose from! ; )

my perfect handbag would most likely be a tote bag that’s large enough to fit my life (mostly my dayplanner and a bottle of water but also the essentials of wallet, keys, cards, phone) with plenty of organization inside, in a fun bright color, leather, and topped off with some cute details.

I would have to say that the perfect bag would be one that is versitile and fashionable.  It has to be pretty big because I have a very large family (5 kids every other weekend and 3 daily.)and we are always on the go.  And since most of the time I am carring their stuff, i.e. cell phones, wallets, I need alot of room.  I am not one for flashy but I like a bit of flare!

my perfect bag:

Exterior: substantial (can hold my heavy stuff), leather (throughout or on trim), structured (keeps its shape), medium to medium-large sized, substantial adjustable handles/straps (e.g. 1/2 inch or wider)

Pockets: zippered top main compartment divided into three sections and includes organizer pockets (two zippered compartments—one for my wallet—and two smaller pockets for keys & phone), and two outside pickets with zipper or magnetic closures.

Color: two colors (main w/trim). Neutral (but not black all over) or bright (red, yellow, orange, green).

Style: sophistacated or fun. not cute (no hearts or words)

My perfect handbag would be a quilted black leather hobo with a really cool printed suede on the inside with bronze or silver hardware and zippered pockets. It would have a strap that could be slipped over a bent elbow, yet be held close to the body.

I am not sure if this is considered a handbag but my best bag is the Timbuk2 messenger bag.  I am an event planner and it fits everything I have perfect. Pockets for cell, pens, a file folder, ipod, wallet, my lunch, 2 eye glass cases with room to spare and in very cool colors.  When I do have my own time and go out, my rule is if it doesn’t fit in my pocket, I don’t need it.  I would love to have a nice bag to use but have no clue about what is great in terms of style - I think it would not be too big but would have a good strap for the shoulder option as well as functional although a kicky evening bag would be nice too.  Having an opportunity to try 12 different styles when I don’t know anything about styles because I am all about function would be amazing.  I don’t tend to spend my money on handbags if it won’t work for my job so it would be a neat treat too :)

Awesome giveaway. My perfect bag would be a medium sized bag, roomy enough to fit my things, have good organizational features inside with a simple nice design.

My best bag? Something large enough to carry sketchbooks and work stuff, tote shaped, I think. Soft leather, that has some simple style, slightly hippy-ish. A bag that is not too heavy when empty…..very important. I live in NYC and New Yorkers live and die by our bags…which we carry our lives around in on most days.

I’d love to win this because this week is my birthday and it would be a great birthday treat!

My perfect bag would be roomy but organized - I would need interior pockets for iPod, sunglasses, lipstick, etc so that I don’t have to search the bottom of the bag.  Ideally I’d be able to fit wallet, notepad, pen, tissues, and other staples in the bag comfortably with some free space should I need a paperback book for a salon visit or something.  It would also be great if there was 1-2 exterior pockets for items like my mobile phone so I don’t have to frantically unzipper the bag to answer calls. I’m flexible with the color - staples such as black or brown appeal to everyday use, although I do like nice accent colors, like a red, pumpkin or lime. I do like patterned or colored insides - they cheer you up when you open the bag.

A new handbag each month…wow! Every woman’s dream come true. My perfect handbag would be a cool color (I have enough black and brown bags) and have pockets to organize all my stuff. But it wouldn’t be so big it’s mistaken for a gym bag.

Black or deep purple leather with silver hardwear.  Loose construction with a couple of inside pockets to hold all my stuff.  Braided or woven leather strap that is large enough to fit over my shoulder.

My perfect purse would be medium size with a round shape (maybe hobo or barrel shape) made with soft supple leather.  I love bright colors but it would probably be black so it could match everything. It would close at the top with a magnetic clasp. All of the hardware would be silver but there would be some accented funky pearls or even chunky silver chains/charms. The stitching would be silver and reinforced.  The strap would be long enough to wear on your shoulder but you could also carry it as a handbag. It would be classy and retro yet punky and modern, some type of a designer rocker purse. The inside of the purse would be made of a silky smooth leopard print fabric. All of the material would be scratch and stain proof/resistant! It would have a matching wallet. Of course my perfect bag would also be practical and have a place for everything (lipstick, cell phone, palm pilot, keys, sunglasses, pen etc.) At nighttime it would light up when opening it so I could easily find everything.  It would come with a purse hook so when I am out and there is nowhere but the ground to place my purse, I can pull out my purse hook and hang it on the table, chair, bar or wherever!

My perfect bag would be about 13” x 17” x 6”, black or silver, and convert from handbag to backpack in case I do some successful shopping or library runs. I’m currently alternating between a Jansport Wheeled Super Break and a Betseyville satchel.

I’m a handbag addict, I would be in heaven if I won.

I commented before but didn’t describe my perfect handbag. D’oh! Well, my perfect handbag would be leather-free, big but not enormous, with some pockets.  It would have room for my camera, some makeup, my wallet, phone, a book, and some other stuff. The biggest pocket would have a zippered closure so if I drop the bag the contents won’t go all over the place. The handbag would also not weigh much when empty. I’d want either a handbag that sits upright, or a shoulder bag that will lay flat, like a messenger bag.

My favorite/ideal bag is one that is sassy!  I love using a purse as an accessory.

Thank you for offering this contest!  My ideal bag would be something classic, that is large enough to hold all my daily necessities, and my kids items (a snack or two and my son’s portable game system). It would also be sturdy and hold up to wear while being fashionable at the same time. I like classic styles cause they are timeless and can be used for years to come, especially since I only buy one handbag a year!

Hmmm, 12 bags, I will HAVE to have 12 pair of shoes to match!
