Wash rags, or dish rags, aren’t expensive, but sometimes it’s hard to find a good one. If you can knit, you can make these handy wash rags for just a dollar or two each. Made of 100 percent cotton (use the organic stuff if you can), they are smooth and soft, and won’t scratch even the finest of dishes. They can also be used for bathing or many other uses around the house.
How to Make Your Own Wash Rag
Cast on 30 stitches with organic all-cotton yarn (follow the label instructions for needle size). Knit each row (garter stitch) until the length and width are equal. Cast off, weave in ends, and then go wash some dishes!
