The word so far from the Kohl’s stores here in Chicagoland (Bucktown, Lincolnwood, Harlem-Irving, Schaumberg, Golf Mill) is that, as far as they know, the line is due the 1st week of September.

What I’m wondering is if we (3rd largest U.S. city) aren’t getting it this month, who *is*?

this could be wrong… the source came from a very highbrow industry publication and I wonder if it is only in select stores… I’m hoping that someone from Kohls responds to this post with details (I tried calling them up but no one would confirm or deny)

” The Times Square billboard in New York, a first for the Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based retailer, will go up Sept. 9 when the Simply Vera line will be in Kohl’s stores. Ads for Kohl’s Vera Wang designs will be in magazines and on newsstands this week.”

By select stores, I think they mean select districts/regions of how the company is divided up, not one store here and one there.  Although it officially launches sept 9, stores will likely have the product out this week.  From what i’ve seen, i like it!

I am really sorry to see someone as wealthy as Vera Wang trying to dip into the pocketbooks of the middle class.
I know she want to bring ‘class’ to the masses but after looking at the styles AND THE PRICES !!!
There aren’t going to be any places for the bluecollar families to wear or afford to buy these clothes.
No dress up parties - except family parties with kids and food and not a place for anything but casual clothes
I am more interested in those celebrities who have designed clothing that will cost no more than TWENTY dollars per piece.
Makes you wonder how much profit is really going into VERA WANG’S pockets if others are able to produce clothing that people CAN afford and who will wear their casual styles every day.
Sorry to sound so negative but I have been told I am not the only customer who has voiced this opinion.  I was told it was said at least 5 (now 6 )by customers today alone.

As an employee at a Kohl’s store, we’ve got the Simply Vera- Vera Wang merchandise. It arrived Saturday and was put out Sunday & Monday. Different Kohl’s are getting their shipments on different days depending on what distribution center and truck delivery schedule they have but shipments should be out soon.
There is a big difference in the types of fabrics used in this line as compared to others-  you can tell in the skirts, blouses, dresses and in the bedding line also. I’ve heard several people talking about how nice the shoes and boots are.

As a Kohl’s employee I love the line.  It reminds me of the 60’s classic look worn by former First Lady Jackie Kennedy.  It is a little bit on the expensive side for me, ex. a dress for $138.00,  but I heard it will be on sale for 30% off.  The debut is going to be Sept 12.  We did set the merchandise in our store in Amherst, NY on Tuesday.

Just to clear up some advertisment questions or concerns. As an employee and supervisor of one of the departments chosen by vera which is shoes.  The Vera Wang line which is debuting at Kohls department stores nationwide this month. The timeline for the merchandise to go out to the floor is between September 3rd-9th.Depending on the shipment schedule. My store got the Vera Line in on Friday Night. Most stores should already have the line on hand, each store has the same deadline for the vera set. The timeline is on day 1 Misses, and accessories should be put out on the Monday and Tuesday and then on day 2 Wednesday is housewares, and shoes.  I don’t have an opinion on the line yet since its only the first week and sales are doing well.  At the store i work at One of the jackets by vera had to be taken of the sales floor since it was selling so fast. So if this is a clue on how Kohls will do it should be interesting.

I just bought the dark purple/navy dress for my high school Homecoming dance. It’s gorgeous and feels amazing.  I was disappointed by the lack of inspiration in most of the clothing, but there were a few signature pieces that caught my eye.  I’ll be looking back periodically for new additions.

Are you kidding me? I am so happy that I have this as an option. I am tired of having to try so hard to look nice and have special pieces in my wardrobe. This way I don’t have to save a ridiculous amount of money to get a nice dress. Hopefully the quality isn’t too shabby.

I saw the line where I live which is a suburb a few minutes outside of L.A. After seeing the line up close I have some mixed feelings. First of all the shoes, jewelry and certain items like the pleated skirt are really cute- but other than that I think colors are depressing and somewhat drab. Also I saw the purses at kohl’s and the quality is a shame- the material is a combo of vinyl and plastic. With the exception of some standout pieces, I hope she revamps the collection for spring

I rushed to the store to check this out and find the dress that appeared in Oprah magazine, they didn’t have it so I ordered it online - HUGE disappointment, the fabric and construction very cheaply done.  I returned it.

Hello people I am back again from another trip from Kohls.
Although Vera Wang may not have had an exactly great debut, on a recent trip, I can see that some more pieces had been wisely added. However, One item that stands out is a beautiful evening coat.
A high waisted coat, that has a rounded collar and big buttons, the style is reminiscent of Jackie Kennedy, from the 50’s and 60’s- a retro glamour type style. The material is of a black brocade, but the flowers that are part of the material, have a silver sheen to them, which glisten beautifully when the light hits them.

Worn over a cocktail dress, with cute heels, this coat will be perfect for the parties, dinners and events that come with the Holiday Season, which is just around the corner.
Is it possible that Vera Wang will save her collection by adding some wonderful, dressy pieces for upcoming Holiday 2007 season ? I, for one, have hope.
