Just got a note (and a lovely giftbag) from the folks over at Mastercard about their monthly bonus sweepstakes. From April 1st- May 31st, every time you make a purchase with a Mastercard debit card you will be automatically entered into a drawing to receive $1,000 a month for ten years ($120,000 bucks for those of you who are math-challenged). Here’s what I would do with $1,000 a month:
- I would use it to pay off my Mastercard credit card bills, with a little handwritten note that says “courtesy of Mastercard Debit card”
- I would buy shoes . . . lots and lots of shoes.
- I would go on vacation to the Galapagos Islands, mostly because it be would cool to say I went on vacation to the Galapagos Islands
- I would donate 10% of it to my favorite charities like the Women’s Alliance and local educational projects.

Thanks for posting that! Stupid question, but does it work if you punch in your pin number, or only if you sign as credit?? It’s hard to tell.
I think it’s only when you use it as a credit card…
