Cute as maxi dresses are, this is not a trend I’m trying out any time soon. I’m just under 5’3” and these dresses are always way too long for me. I know Nicole Richie rocks the style with aplomb, but I’m just not convinced regular shorties can pull this look off.
I’m 5’1’ and I can pull it off with a pear shaped body, top is smaller than bottom 1/2… I just add a 2” heel and make sure the dress hits at the ankle, or right above the knee…. There are petite and short sizing, though, I admit sometimes hard to find…. BTW, I’m also thick.
I’m 5’3 yet I wear maxi’s all the time thanks to my tailor. I recently purchased one from Shopbop at 70% off, and shopped through Ebates.com because I get cash back on my purchases!
We must have the same fashion sense because I posted my 5 favorite maxi dresses on my fashion blog a few weeks ago. I also chose the blue New York and Company dress too! So simple, yet cute.
