There are two things that we, at The Budget Ecoist, are willing to splurge on:
1) Really solid, well-made, basic shoes. Why? Because our tootsies matter to us! We like being able to walk and we intend to keep doing it when we are sassy, 90-something Eco Fashionistas! Our slogan…as long as they’re not going out of style anytime soon, shoes are an investment. Not quite like a 401K, but sort-of.
2) A nice, basic purse. Again you ask, “Why, Budget Ecoist?” Well, thanks for asking, again. Purses can be fun, flirty accessories. But it can also be a pain in the arse to have to transfer your wallet, cell phone, Burt’s Bees lip gloss and the like from one bag to the next. So most of us stick to one favorite most of the time. The sheer amount of use this favorite accessory receives is enough to allow us a little leeway when making a purchasing decision.
Get ready for a little leeway…
The elegant and timeless Tony Perotti handbag label has recently launched “The Green Collection” by the Italian Perotti. The collection includes beautiful leather bags made of ultra-durable full-grain leather that are hand-dyed using an eco-friendly vegetable tanning technique. The Green Collection encompasses a wide variety of styles, sizes, and colors in briefcases, handbags, and wallets that can be proudly used by the eco-conscious around the world.
The Prima Petite Weekend handbag, shown, is the perfect size at 10x6x5.5 inches. It comes in several standard color choices including this honey shade or for the more adventurous: aqua blue, fuschia or orange.
At $190 this handbag isn’t necessarily a steal, but it is a well-made purse that can be a pivotal part of your wardrobe. And if you use it for the next $190 days, well, you know…only a buck a day! There’s some justification to send you off to a great weekend!
