Trentacosta New York is the brainchild of designer and photographer Darren Trentacosta who is a pioneer for the plus sized modeling industry. His collection is tailored and sophisticated and draws inspiration from his hometown of New Orleans, time spent in Europe and his life in New York City. Pieces from the Trentacosta line are available in sizes 10w-24w. Items can be purchased online or at boutiques worldwide. The newest collection will be available on May 1, 2010.

Ulla Popken was created in 1987 in Germany after the Popken company saw that plus sized women were buying clothes from their maternity clothes line because they were trendier that what was available to the plus sized fashionista. Now based in Maryland, the line includes sizes XL-6x (12/14-36/38) and is available for purchase online or through catalogue orders. The site has a glossary to help you navigate certain fashion terms and includes beachwear, intimates and a new organic line of clothing.

Husband and wife team Yul and Christina Kwon have spent the past twenty years designing for retail markets before launching their Missphit line; a mix of Euro-chic and laid back LA cool. By listening to what the curvy woman wants they were able create looks flattering for everyone. The line is available online and at select retailers including Dillard’s and comes in sizes 1x-3x (14w/16w-22w-24w).

    I never paid much attention to Ulla Popken until they joined up with One Stop Plus, but they have gorgeous clothes, I’m sure I will be adding some of their fashions to my spring wardrobe!
    I wasn’t familiar with the other two – thanks for the new resources!!

  2. says has the best plus sized clothes. They are a little pricey, but I have her convertible dress that was about $200, but you can wear it more than 20 different ways…cost per wear for me has been awesome!
