What: The US version of the reusable shopping bag designed by Anya Hindmarch, which experienced its initial limited release in June (and sold out in three hours), goes on sale at Whole Foods this Wednesday.
What the fashions heads say: From Anya Hindmarch (via Bag Snob): “Our aim with this project has been to use our influence to make it fashionable not to use plastic bags.”
What I say: The bag is cute, affordable ($15), and sponsors a good cause (forgoing those environmentally hazardous plastic bags). The bags have become a sort of phenomenon since they launched in the UK and appeared arms of celebrities such as Keira Knightly. But since it serves a practical function it shouldn’t suffer from overkill. The problem will be getting your hands on one. The initial US release sold out in three hours. Whole Foods is enforcing a 3 bag limit and only a handful of stores (to find a store, click here, and enter “Anya Hindmarch” in the search box in the upper right hand corner) are offering them.
