The Bright Colored Dress: High Vs. Low

By now, you’re all aware that vibrant color is on the way for spring, in a big big way. Orange just might be the most eye-popping of choices, but quite frankly we’re all for it, especially in a great daytime dress. Here, two choices to test your budget fashionista savvy—one we could pick up with our budget-loving heads held high, while the other would have us feeling more than a little pinched. So which is which?

The dress on the right is the luxe version, by Ralph Lauren, $1,198 at Neiman Marcus. Our budget option is on the left, a comparatively paltry $130 at Banana Republic.

The one on the right is beautiful and looks more expensive, but I think orange is hard to wear.  I think it only looks good on tanned or dark skinned people, so I only wear it when I’ve been to the beach!

Like Curlytop, I love wearing orange too, and I’m very fair skinned.  Layering bright camis under v-neck sweaters is my favorite way to bring vibrancy into winter clothes.
