What: We love, love, love Target’s Go International collections (though some are much better than others…), so we’re very excited about the latest sneak peak. The details on two upcoming lines, Jean Paul Gaultier (March 2) and Zac Posen’s (April 25), have been leaked. According to the lookbooks, Posen’s collection will feature mostly dresses (and some swimsuits, too), with prices ranging from $40 to $90, while Gaultier’s is more varied and funkier, with a whole spectrum of styles.
What The Cut Says:
The line itself is immediately identifiable as Gaultier’s work — massive collars on high-waisted jackets, tattoo prints, naval embellishments, and a certain hard-edged European drama are all apparent. The printed tights, floral-print A-line dress, and simple red dress with ruching at the front are all particularly wearable and, at just under $200, the leather jackets are eminently buyable.
What We Say: We’ll save a bit of our spring shopping money for these two collections – although some of the collabs have been disappointing at best (Tracy Feith??). But we love Gaultier and Posen, even though the price point aren’t all that “budget”.
